Steve Angello

I only recently ( about one year ) did I start getting into house music, and ive realized a trend in most of my housetracks... There all either produced or remixed by Steve Angello. Does anyone know any good livesets to look for from him? Or anymore info on him? Thanks in Advance!

Wow, I'm usually not this blatantly critical, but that was a really, really stupid post.

Steve makes a lot of stuff, but not even 2% of what's out there.

Im not usually this blatantly critical either, but if you read the post I didnt say he makes all the good tracks. I simply said that out of the tracks I have, (I being the key word here) most of the ones I like are made or remixed by him. But thanks helping out, but that was just a stupid post to raise up your stupid post count.

As for the rest of the fellow Ta's thanks for the help! Im actually dl that set as I type this.

Markus and Armin are having alot of fun playing the same three Angello/Ingrosso tracks over and over and over.

Posted by darkSIde on Mar-30-2006 23:45:

Yes but when do they not spin certain tracks and put them on repeat?
Over.and.Over. It just so happens Angello was picked this time..

Unfortunately he quit coming a while back due to the usual insane criticism coming from people here.

I suggest the Essential mix that he did last year in September, his performance @ MAD Lausanne last year, and also the Heroes of 2005 Hotmix from the Essential Selection.

Btw, hes performing at Sensation White this year (July 1st)

Well, here's another stupid post to raise my stupid post count that I could care less about :

If you say you've recently gotten into "house" and all of your tracks are by Steve Angello, then you haven't gotten into house, just into Steve Angello's tracks. As I said, there's a lot more out there. I like a lot of Angello's stuff, too, but if that were the only house tracks I liked, I certainly wouldn't say I was into house.

And I'll be nice and answer your question -
-The MAD mix would be good if it weren't for the MC ruining the set.
-The Essential Mix is OK.
-I haven't heard the MoS comp because it's pretty full of stuff I've already got on other CDs or sets, so I expect that it's good.
-I like the Mixmag CD posted above, it's probably my favorite of his stuff that i have.
-I haven't heard it, but you could also check out the Subliminal Sessions 8 CD. Angello & Ingrosso mixed disc 2, disc 1 is Jose Nunez, so you'd be able to hear some non-Angello house.

The only reason I haven't listened to some of these is because I don't download albums and there's too many recycled tracks to justify buying a $25-30 import like the MoS double when there's so much different material out there.

That tracklist looks disgusting.

Elaborate

I actually like this disc (well, not the 49% track, I've never been a fan of that one)

yeah same here..the energy in it seems to be missing, and its just bland IMO

Posted by iammesol on Mar-31-2006 01:14:

All I can say is that it's better than the original... I expected it to be pretty good based on the remix, but it's......

not

i agree.
although i dont hate the tracks and like most, you would drop this set on a dancefloor and i guarantee you would clear the room. Why?
Because playing tracks produced by the same people over and over will:
1.Bore everyone
2.Lack energy(a dancefloor needs to change things up to keep moving)
3.Sound like a Benny Benassi set (the 2nd worst dj in the world)

Posted by fastmp3 on Mar-31-2006 01:46:

this whole swedish mafia house thing reminds me of pvd/tiesto/armin/ferry a few years ago

Posted by torontotrance on Mar-31-2006 01:58:

I'm not digging the Swedish House sound but I do love Who Who's - Not So Dirty, its just flithy. I am digging Erick Morillo's sound of late, subliminial sessions 9 (hmv 3cd version) is what I'm hammering. I'm also back into GU017 where the great tenaglia shows how it is done.

I think its ridiculous to pull a G&D and play only your own productions (or your friends) in a set. I believe in variety and sets moving through different music. I think DJ's should take you on a journey through a wide variety of tracks, not slam you with the same shit for hours (no matter how good the tracks are). I like alot of those tracks on their own but an entire CD of only that, I would never listen to.

I also believe a good set should build, and playing aftermath two tracks in just shatters any hope of that. Aftermath sounds best when you make people wait for it, when you drop it at an unexpected moment, when you build up to it.

I mean thats just my opinion.
