Airlines - Your experiences

So I'm hitting Toronto this weekend and will be flying on Northwest. Never flown with them so I was wondering if anyone here has and what they thought. Last time I went to Toronto I went on US Air and I got delayed in Washington D.C. for 2 damn hours.

What are your fav. and least fav. airlines? Tell it here.

I hate them all except for Midwest Airlines.

Of the ones I've been on I enjoyed Air France and American Airlines the best. The others are equally as bad as one another... if that makes sense.

ive flown in continental airlines.......not a good experience.

ive only flown american and delta, delta was much better imo. delta ftw!

Years ago I would have agreed with you on American, but lately I heard they weren't doing so good. When I went to Los Angeles in January, I flew on Song Airlines, which is part of Delta. Not bad at all.

Years ago, when I went to Colombia, Avianca was absolutely horrid with their service and schedules.

lufthansa or any airbus ftw. boeings and every domestic airline i've been on sucks: united, american, southwest and delta. never flown northwest though...

I flew MartinAir Holland on both occasions I went to Amsterdam and both times I had minimal delays...nothing TOO bad compared to the D.C. delay in February. It's something I had to put up with MartinAir, since down here they have non-stop flights to Amsterdam pretty much monopolized.

I flew Northwest & when I turned on the reading light, the plane slowed down.

delta in the us is the best airline im willing to say. american went to shit a while ago.....


worst one goes to airtran.

Theres a reason why my friend who flies for Northwest calls them "Northworst"

Delta sucks, Nachos. Everytime I fly Delta, there are horrendous delays and you always have to fly into Atlanta which is like a zoo.

I've flown on Northwest, DA, and it was okay. Nothing good, nothing bad.

Lufthansa ftw but I prefer Boeing made planes to Airbuses. The Airbus needs to install an aircraft pilot coupling correction in their computer software before I will be comfortable.

maybe cause im in atlanta... its always easy to get to anywhere with delta from here.


and ya our airport is hugeeeeee..... busy as fak.. but organized i feel. ya delays do happen alot on our airport :s

Sorry. NorthWest is horrible.

JetBlue is flipping awesome, though. Flew with them twice this year already.

The best flying experience, though, was on Czech. Airlines earlier in January.

thus far, my favorite flight ever was on Song.

i think they are a part of Delta.

I typically fly 4-5 times a year and Song is the best.

the planes are so colorful! lol

but thats not why i like it.

they gave me good food, cool interactive screen in front of my seat to play with.....tracks how fast the plane goes, where u r, you can watch shows, listen to music, or just chill out and not pay attention to it.

plus, the moment i got on the plane.......i heard them playing DRUM&BASS lol

i laughed my ass off, but it was a good time.

Hartsfield can be pretty fking retarded. Once I land, I must go to pre-baggage claim and then walk about 60feet, and then I have to put my bags on another thing! I have to go RECLAIM THEM GRR! Its fucking stupid because they lost my bag when it was on its way to the final baggage claim area.

I think you have to fly into ATL because that's Delta's hub. That part about the zoo....partially true. When I was coming home from Toronto in February it was seriously packed with people.

Thanks sweets. And yeah, most flights nowadays you have to bring your own food or actually buy it on the plane, and it's like $5 for a cheap sandwich which is a total FTL.

Only flown domestic so this won't make much sense to most overseas people (unless they're staying in Aus for a while).

Qantas is good. Good food, entertainment is decent, all included in airfare. Lots of routes and flights. A bit more expensive than others.

Virgin Blue is okay. No tvs on planes, you have to buy your own earphones (or bring your own), no food or refreshments included, all buy or bring your own. The audio services are ok though, they have a dance channel so thats alright. Good range of routes and usually a fair bit cheaper than Qantas.

Jetstar is a bit bogan. Fly to secondary airports, same sort of deal as Virgin as far as in flight services, some planes (which are being replaced though) don't even have in flight audio. Unallocated seating (which is ok if you are traveling ina group and arrive at airport separately, but no garuntees you'll sit together anyway). Some planes are done up in advertising inside and out, its a bit full on sitting in your seat and everywhere oyu look is a pizza ad. Usually the same price as Virgin.

My pick is Qantas if the price difference to Virgin isn't that much, but usually it is so Virgin for me. Jetstar is ok for short haul flights but flying to secondary airports can suck a bit sometimes.



I'd like to knw about international carriers though, like American Airline, United, NZ, Singapore, British etc

Plus it seems a stackload of people want to come to Aus anyway so it might be ueful for them.
