i like street fighters better, but mortal kombat always had more graphics.

The only debate in the world with more impassioned viewpoints than the "Vinyl vs. CD's" thread in the DJ Booth.

SF - All day long.

Mortal kombat for the win!

Finish him!

please dude, mortal kombat any day over shit fighter, no doubt about it.

mortal kombat = photorealistic graphics (at least before it got 3D), great character designs/innovative character skills (they can freeze, shoot spears, blow fireballs, spit acid, punch you in the balls), and awesome character animation (when an MK dude does a roundhouse kick, it looks like what an actual martial artist would do).

street fighter = cartoonish, choppy animation ( just like most anime ), weird fucking character selections (it's a fucking melting pot, they have X-men, spiderman, plain karate guys, hulk-sized giants, wtf).

MK was fun for its mindless button mashing.... but SF had some intense skill....

BTW the best Capcom fighter is Rival Schools, especially the Japanese import Dreamcast version... that game was the shiznit.
DAMN RIGHT!!!. rival school FTW. i used the baseball player, and the tennis girl. and the doctor lady

The two gaming series are both good in various aspects so you can't really say one is better than the other. It all comes down to personal preference.

I enjoy Street Fighter a bit more, personally.

Bah, MK's early graphics were lame and cheesy looking. And you're going to tell me that these guys:

Are innovative and designed great?

SF Series all the way n00b! It takes skill to be good at SF, it takes quick button mash abilities to be good at Mk... No contest.

Ryu would eat Kabal's sould, n00b

Edit: Oh man did I just self pwn - I'm not going back and fixing those pics. In order its supposed to be: Stryker, Nightwolf, Sektor, and Kabal...

Posted by trancedanne on May-15-2006 19:24:

Scorpion owns every fucking character ever in sf history

nice pics. Kabal is fucking amazing, he's my avatar if you haven't noticed. I mean, how awesome is his mask? It's like ... scooba gear mixed with night vision, and all these tubes and cables that make him look fully equipped - front to back - like whoa!

Kabal would have been cool if he was a G.I. Joe Character. As a fighting game character, he's as weak as Stryker, the gayest of all fighting game characters ever.

MK is a classic, so is SF. i like SF better cuz u can do better stuff than in MK. the only cool thing you can do in MK is the FINISH HIM thing only when you killed the guy-girl already. which sucks lol.

Posted by trancedanne on May-15-2006 19:30:

Kabal is imo one of the coolest mk characters, his mask is verry predator inspirated mixed with something else, just brilliant. Stryker i can agree is pretty week but compared to a sf character he is not

i also have a question here. Why hasn't Killer Instinct been brought up as a candidate in this discussion? KI was the best game for when you wanted to do crazy shit like 50-hit combo's.

co-co-co-co-combo breakurrrrrrrr!!!!

Stryker is weak compared to a Cabbage Patch Kid or a Care Bear.

MK all the way for me, specially 3, I used to own anyone with Sindel, apart from my neighbour who would whip me with Kabal

SUNNYMUMAREH!!!!

Posted by StanVoid on May-15-2006 19:45:

i've heard that there's a h4x in MK2 (or one of the series) where you can make Katana take her top off.

Posted by Nayil on May-15-2006 19:45:

Mortal Kombat fo sho.

Posted by Zoso on May-15-2006 19:45:

I think it nearly goes without saying that I wasted copious amounts of time on both! Time that I'll never get back. But hey, you have the rest of your life to work and all that.
