sigh no more cdj1000

my second cdj1000 is dead. after only 3 weeks of having my second one. soooo mad. i was moving my room around and set all my dj equipment on my bed. was moving a pretty big cabinet when one of the shelves fell out and landed RIGHT on the cdj. cracked the jog dial display and when i put a cd in it says blank disc and shoots the disc out

i called a pioneer service department and they said it was going to be hella expensive to fix it. i guess im going to sell it on ebay for parts and pick up a cdj800 for the time being.

on a lighter note, my friend said he'll buy my cdj1000 off me for 250. for parts or whatever he wants to do it with.

dunno how it is in the usa, but it's pretty easy to do in finland at least. for something worth that much i'd go thru a bit hassle.
you should really ask your parents IMO.

my parents would flip a shit if they knew how much some of my stuff costs. LOL

That sucks.
Try and geta new jog dial and try to save it.
See here before you sell it for nothing :

reverse engineer the mother****** and find out what's wrong.

I get these ideas of rearranging furniture.
Last month when I was moving stuff around I pulled a cable which nocked my speaker stand which was holding my dynaudio acoustics bm6a monitor.
It fell on the wall and chipped the wood on the cabinet.
While it functions excacly like it did before, if I wanted to sell the pair I would loose at least 150-200$ for that minor cosmetic fault on the one speaker.
I was holding on to this shit job to buy those speakers
Oh well...lesson learned.

I lost a 1000mk2 recently...i feel you pain

I thought it was your friend at the house party that lost the 1000mk2. Unless you've also lost one of your own, in which case I wouldn't want you near my stuff

Posted by spdandpwr on May-18-2006 03:29:

no it was my friends i referred it as mine to make him feel better...btw that is the first time i have ever had equipment get screwed up even with djing house parties every weekend.

i can't believe i'm the only one suggesting the insurance thing! this is exactly the kind of situation you get the insurance for in the first place! i say you're out of your fucking mind if you won't take advantage of the insurance.

Posted by HotDogWater on May-18-2006 23:20:

it doesn't really work the same in the us...

home insurance is for fires, robberies, floods, etc. not stuff of your own doing.

yup, homeowners insurance wont cover it. i just decided not to get another cdj for the moment. getting a iMAC G5 20inch. getting it at a price i cant refuse so i guess it'll be two turntables and one cdj for now, maybe get serato instead of another cdj?

Where do you get so much money, thats the question

I constantly see you buying stuff in the Picture thread lol not on purpose but ever other post is you posting "I got a 9th CDJ-1000 and a sefour desk + 2 sefour stands (which are 200 each) and a iMac. THen next post is you complaining about breaking one of your CDJ's and to make up for the 1000 dollar device you broke you go out and buy Mac G5 and a serato hahahaha + your sweet xone (Said Danila and went to buy 2 CDJ's My lucky day is tomorrow, picking up 2 cdj's 200)

""Jelous""
Just kidding bro. Sorry to hear about your CDJ and I heard nothing but good about Serato btw
