Tilt - I Dream (Remix Comp)

Just to inform anyone who's interested there's a remix comp of 'I Dream', the winner will feature on a new cd of unreleased/rare tilt tracks. Check www.tiltlive.com for further details.

YAY!

Hopefully I can put some weight behind this w/ my new setup!

I love this track! Listening to the Casa De Angeles rmx right now.

From the website:

The contest is open to ANYONE world-wide, all submissions must be in by 31st August 2006. This is in time for the promotion and pressing to begin for the full Winter release.

TILT FTW

The samples are a bit crap (some sound like they were ripped straight from the track with the crashes & fx) but we're definitely giving this a go!

Posted by BOOsTER on Jun-28-2006 10:52:

you did read the text file that came with the remixpack? it says so there...they have lost all the original files...and ripped these off various mixes...

Yeah. Luckily those synths aren't too hard to replicate.

Tilt is Andy Moor and Mick Park.

this sounds too crapy to him andy moor tho.

The reason it sounds "crapy" is because it's from 1995. Andy Moor wasn't even part of Tilt when this track was made, it was Quivver and Parks & Wilson.

Oh, the ignorance...

From the txt file that comes with the remix pack:
"We don't have a MIDI file for this, so please don't embarass yourself by asking for it ;-)"

Posted by LENG on Jun-28-2006 15:56:

sheesh... they oughtta be embarassed by themselves for not having the midi...

...or maybe you should be embarrassed for making stupid statements like that. Another quote from the txt file:

quote:
Hi, The multitracks for I Dream have long since dissappeared into the dead-computer-ether.
However we have sampled some clean bits from what mixes of I Dream that we still have.
We don't pretend that they are all in time or all in key... but the raw material is there.
If you can cut the mustard... I am sure you will make it work.

watever...

no MIDI, no remix..

next competition please..

Posted by BOOsTER on Jun-28-2006 16:33:

why so? can't you just put it in melodyne and figure the chords at least? Ableton makes matching with their samples a breeze, so what's the problem?

do i have Melodyne ? no..

and the time i could spend figuring the melodies of the track i could have made my own melody for my own tracks.. no midi, no remix. its not like its the omg track to remix either..

This track doesnt need remixing. I beg people not to enter this, its perfect the way it is and doesnt need a 2006 update.

I agree, I love it just the way it is and I don't expect to hear a better mix then the original but I'm hoping someone out there will make a awesome remix that really stands out. If they don't I still got the original to listen to right?

I'm looking forward to the results.

''What we are looking for??? .... Is not a replication of what is there already.. or a 2000 sound.
Listen to what is around in Prog-Tech-Trance-Electro today and make it sound fresh and
modern.''

does that mean we can make any style?
