Are you serious?

I had a facking amazing time. I am so glad I went.
What did you find so bad about it?

Evil1

OMG worst party ever and I have been to some shitty parties but this one defiantly takes the cake..... maybe it's cuz I forgot what fucked up candy kids look like and how retarded they act or maybe I have become a total snob (so says my g.f) but I totally lost touch with parties of this caliber my ideal night is not seeing 13-16 passed out on couches or giving each other back rubs, this venue has so much more potential but the type of party this was is far from anything worth the drive to Toronto or paying the $20 cover charge.... the dj's train wrecked more then I do and I can hold a clinic on how to train wreck it was also +100000 degrees in there everything had a layer of sweat on covered by 2-3 more layers of dirt and sweat... the party was sp bad that the person who brought me to the party offered me to pay my cover for another just to get the fuck out of there as compensation to picking such a horrible event .... overall -10/10

p.s balls does not sum it up

haha! I guess it's the first time you guys have been to party that isn't at the guv, boa, sonic, whatever whenever.

These types of parties are very low budget and obviously all ages.
Some like to call these "raves".

It is usually full of candy kids and most people are high off their faces.

I had an awesome time, it wasn't the perfect venue, but i've been to many parties like these, and i've been to the big bop a few times before.

Maybe it wasn't your type of music?

I lovedddddd it.

There were so many awesome dj's.

BTW - you have to realise since it's such a shitty venue there is going ot be a lot of trainwrecks - technically difficulties, people jumping on the stage.

oh man, you are almost tempting me to make a review! I know it was fucking hot - but i'm so used to that at beba or el mocambo or any other crappier venue.

I guess "PLUR" is mostly what makes up for these "raves".

anyway, I got to hear FOUR HOURS OF TECHNO.

FOUR HOURS

WHAT MORE COULD I WANT?

start off with some ghetto booty with kamikaze.

Got to hear some techno from

Mike Conradi

Unabomber

Dj Forza [ a hot looking woman]

so many dj's!

Such a variety of music.
I even got to hear some strange metal/jungle set. I think it's called Mungle?

I'm sorry you guys didn't have a good time. Had I know certain ta's were going, I would have started a roll call. [I never could imagine a TA setting foot in such a party! ]
At least we could have hung out and made fun of people.

Posted by CAKE on Jul-04-2006 14:23:

I knew what the big bop is all about i'm a drakrave vet i use to got here every month before they moved it to the suckhus .... i love that venue but that was the worst party at the venue .... oh and i didn't even mention the douchebag on the mic in the main room my g.f wanted to kock him out that's how annoying he was u ever try to hold back a furious 5'3 italian girl ....

Posted by Killah Monkey on Jul-04-2006 14:26:

Any reviews of Jezbone?

Posted by Misanthrope on Jul-04-2006 14:29:

Being a darkrave vet - you should know sketch very well.
In fact, at my first darkrave - I was innocently sitting on the couch and some sketched out dude sprawled out near me. I got a really nice surprise and got my arm bitten by him twice. Needless to say, I left shortly after.

Mc's always suck.

Why did you hold her back? You should have let her go. I would have enjoyed the glowstick fight.

mmmhmmmmmmmmmmmm

It was awesome! yeah a bits of trainwrecks. [technical difficulties]

mmmm pure techno goodness drooool. Film played my most acid techno track [fuck I should find the track] ended up jumping on the stage and doing the crazy chicken dance!

Posted by LiamK on Jul-04-2006 14:51:

I had a great time, and I heard some really awesome music. I always feel like I'm not cool enough at sonic/guv... this was my kind of party.

Chiclet rocked.

my problem was the heat... it was a sweat factory.
and why do they always put the breaks room in the worst ventilated room anyways? i could have had fun in that room, only room to carry good sound. did u hear the sound in their "third room?" NO LOWS!! none! brutal. the worst was the $20 though, from 5 to 20? whaa?
anyhow... good thing darkrave was across the street. that was sweeeeet. nightsaver for sure

yeah! i didn't know you were into acid techno.
Julian Liberator came here in april.

um - that's all I can think of so far. Usually when film plays out - he plays acid techno.

Mike Conradi gave me a mix via Torontoraves.
it's not exactly acid techno but it does have an awesome julian liberator track around the 50 minute mark
http://www.musicv2.com/artist/mike_conradi

maybe you can pester him for a new mix?

I don't know. In fact, this is a problem all over Toronto. [drowning in your own sweat pool]

I went to a make it funky event at el mocambo. I seriously thought I was going to pass out. I don't know which room you are talking about - I just stayed in the holy joe's.

$20? that I am not sure about.... they did have advanced tickets for $7 - I paid $10 for that party.

Hey you went to darkrave? how was basilisk?

Thank you! exactly, I hate dresscodes. I am going out to dance to music - I refuse to wear heels. The only time i'll wear fucking heels is for a job interview.

I'm not a candy raver by any means, but I like to dress comfortably.

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT PARTY IN AUGUST!!! WOOO!!! talk about techno.

mmm droool

If you mean the very bottom room (cube?) I'm pretty sure that's where the rental sound equipment they got from the dudes at cherry beach was. They had to use that stuff because of the venue fuckups that went on... I don't completely understand the whole story but I understand they got jerked around by the 2 different places they originally had lined up and moved the party to the big bop sometime saturday morning. It caused some problems obviously but when you're tryingto save a party with 12 hours till it starts I guess you do what you can.

Posted by l]evil on Jul-05-2006 16:48:

suppose to go, bailed last minute got too wasted at the beach
