Creamfields 2006

anyone going to this ? lineup looks pretty good with PVD, AVB, Paul Oakenfold, Ferry, Marco V, Tiesto...

i'm planning to fly from NY for this event. can anyone give any insight about this event ? (is it worth the trip?

thanx,

that line up looks the same as every other dance event i wouldnt say its worth the trip personally
creamfields isnt in liverpool this year so there might be less idiots there i wouldnt bank on it though.

I went last year and had a great time however it does attract the scum of the mersey. It has only moved 20 minutes down the road so wouldn't expect much change in the clientele. Tbh all commercial festivals are like that in the UK it is only a small percentage of people who want to ruin ya night chances are you won't see anything.
As the site has moved away from Liverpool city centre I would consider hiring a car to make it easier for you to get to as shuttle busses are a joke especially queuing for hours at the end to not get on it.

Fucking scallys!

I'm travelling up from London for this - is it generally recommended to drive if the bus shuttle service is likely to be a nightmare?

Posted by sleepydragon on Aug-01-2006 16:26:

if ur not taking any drugs then drive but if u r taking stuff i wouldnt risk it

Police aren't my friends. Sniffer dogs are cool!

btw, how many people are expected to be going to Creamfields? Guessing it's a fair amount less than the 45,000 at Global.

We walked past the dog at global no problem. Just seal it up and use some hair gel

last year there were more people at creamfields on the Saturday then at Global on the saturday. 42,000 was the 'official' total last year. Expect the same this year. Don't read too much into totals its all PR spin.

I don't know about other years but this year there seems to be very little talk or hype surrounding the festival. As far as I'm aware tickets can only brought online or through the telephone, I've heard nothing about it on Radio 1 who were really bigging up Global and the website for Creamfields is a loada shit considering it's supposed to be a big festival. Still I'm sure it will be a great experience, not sure what the Zutons are doing there tho

Posted by spacetrain on Aug-16-2006 00:10:

Global was advertised on Radio1 as they were the offical partners of it.
I expect you can get tickets from shops as well - the new cream website is shite tho. Isn't it on galaxy like last year?

Posted by Penfold99 on Aug-22-2006 14:49:

Do they sell tickets on the day there? and how easy is it to get them?

thx

Posted by zag2me on Aug-22-2006 17:10:

Yes, these festivals always have ticket sales on the gate.

A miss for me this year... maybe next.

Posted by dj_cuba on Aug-25-2006 18:14:

Can't wait now

I thought I wouldn't be able to go earlier on today as I won't get payed until the end of the month and was relying on my mate to give me the 65 he owes me to go. He was due to get payed today, except his workplace fucked up so he didn't. When he found out he swore at the boss who told him to leave the office. An hour later he comes back, apologises, keeps his job and manages to get a borrow of 65 in cash so I can go with him. Pure class imo!

Posted by bhurya on Aug-27-2006 10:41:

lmao...just bout 2 say it. i had it on my comp all this time.....that tune had absolutely everyone truely raving. ask anyone that went..and tiesto had an absolutely amazin set aswell...check this for the last 3 tunes...1)klaus badelt - he's a pirate (tiesto mix) 2)tiesto - adagio for stings 3)delerium - silence (tiesto ISOS mix) ...u can probably imagine how hectic it got...and the place was PACKED not even room 2 move ur arms....that had its ups n downs tho...not been to a rave with that atmosphere... EVER!...on the downside it got 2 hard 2 early...hen got trancy later on...by wich time most people were knackered so it went dead to the end of halliwells set (who was also amazing!)....and on the bombshell, ive got a wedding 2 go 2, sry if this post was a little 2 rushed 4 u guys... im sure dj cuba will fill u in ta ra 4 now peeps

anyone got some pics vids? get uploading

Posted by dj_cuba on Aug-28-2006 15:54:

WOW what an event! Even better than etter than GKGG imo

Every DJ except PVD played much better than I expected. PVD whas ok but nothing better than average, loved it when he played For an angel as his 1st tune tho...

The best set of the night had to go to Marco V though, truly outstanding, I haven't heard a set that good in a long time, Eddie came close but didn't quite beat him. The acoustics were very good, not like the shit sound quality in the Godskitchen arena at Global this year. On the downside the Goodgreef tent (where all the best djs were) was built on a slope which made it a little difficult to dance at times and the water points were really inadequate. Overall I'd say it was the best festival I've been too so far

Posted by zag2me on Aug-28-2006 22:36:

I have just heard a rip of Ferry's set that was on Galaxy.fm and all i can say is HOLY SHIT! what an atmosphere!!!

The bit when he does a new mix of 'Galaxia' then suddenly kicks in System F - out of the blue with no warning, the crowd just erupts!!!!.

Must have been amazing to be there.
