Anyone here into/was into comic books?

I used to collect

Superman
DOOM 2099
Transformers Generation 2
Lady Death

And some of Green Lantern.

Anyone else?

my neighbor gave me a couple superman comics where he got his ass kicked by some guy made of rocks, then i was like "what is this shit" and put it in my attic. I think it's still there.

Don't know no rock guy...unless maybe it was Doomsday, the thing that woudl eventually kill Superman. Few weeks ago I downloaded a .PDF version of Action Comics #1, which would be worth a pretty penny today. How much exactly, I'm not sure.

Anyway I was cleaning some stuff out when I found the comics today. Here's Transformers Generation 2 #1.

More stuff:

Lady Death #1

Evil Ernie #0

Brinke of Eternity

These were from the comics company CHAOS! Comics. I don't think around anymore though.

I read my bf's comics. My faves are his old JLA issues (I like the new ones too), and Batman. But I read The New Avengers, Spiderman, and X-Men as well. Some crazy shit going on in the Marvel world with the civil war!

Oh and Archie comics! My number one, heehee. I ALWAYS get them when I'm at the grocery store.

Comics rule. Especially after smoking a nice big joint!

BTW, anyone notice the Springer-esque title on DA's Transformers comic? LOL!

that may very well be the dude. all i know is he busted superman over his knee and threw him into the ground and there was a flag or maybe part of supermans cape or something waving in the air.

i dont remember it much

I'm more concerned that the comic artist didn't know that bullet casings remain in the gun's chamber and don't get shot into the target.

oh man in high school I was such a comic book geek. I followed a lot of comics too. From X-Men, to Spiderman, Alpha Flight, FF4, Avengers, Fathom...and a lot of good side stories too (like the one between X-Men and Wild Cats done by Jim Lee...oh man that was good. I even remember when Marvel did a whole shake-up in the Spiderman universe; killing off Parker's clone finally, and starting The Amazing Spiderman from the beginning.

Man I miss comics...

LMAO I never thought of that title in that way.

JLA got thier asses kicked by Doomsday when he was running loose.

Busted over knee? Sounds like the guy who broke Batman's back, Bane.

The flag or part of Superman's cape was defintely from the Death of Superman series.

Not Guilty. I rip on you for other things but anyway, I have the trade paperback for Ghost In the Shell, that's about the only anime/manga hard copy I have.

Tons! There's all kinds of suggestive shit in Archie comics. Seriously, get baked and then read them...it's pure jokes!

I read a little bit of Archie when I was a kid and back then I already knew they were up to something no good

Posted by kr00t0n on Aug-16-2006 08:29:

X-Men
Transformers
Forgotten Realms
Dragonlance
Maxx
Lobo
Plasticman
Some Disney stuff
Some Archie stuff

Posted by DigitalPhoenix on Aug-16-2006 14:08:

I've got probably about 200 comic books from early 80's til mid-90's.

Spawn
Maxx
Spiderman
X-Men (original series)
Superman's Death & Return (still unopened)
Fantastic 4
Avengers
Magnus Robot Fighter (Dark Horse Comics RIP)
Cable (1st series)

Others I cant remember right now.
Matter of fact, thinking of going thru them and selling the collection.

This is why I bought doubles as a kid

Posted by chojin on Aug-16-2006 14:12:
