Anyone else getting kind of tired of Sander van Doorn?
Starting off this year he was one of my top prospects as he was to many other TAs. His sets had energy as did his productions that weren't being found too often in the trance realm. Recently his sets have gone south because it seems he has fallen into the "man this 2005 Swedish House Mafia tech house stuff is so fresh lets play entire sets of it" crevasse. All his sets post-Essential Mix (which in all honesty was over half tech house, still good) have gone more and more tech house. And despite me still liking his productions and remixes, they are once again starting to sound a bit samey.
I still wouldn't mind seeing him live, but listening to his sets at home I'm beginning to yawn. And I'm liking less and less of his productions and remixes. Maybe he should do another Sam Sharp release.
I love him still, but that may be cuz I'm a mafia addict
No.

SvD: I still like his productions under his "Purple Haze" alias most. That definitely did not change.
He has more to offer than just one style (see it from the positive side!) so you might dislike this and that. He doesn't need to be a chameleon though...
He just wants more money.
i still don't rate him. he's produced a lot, but a lot of it has been too samey. It's ok for a bit, but soon tires because of this

Not really and I still like him but I can see people saying he's taking the route that Markus did.

The way I look at it is if you are going to put hard dance sounds and elements in tracks/sets it needs to be at a higher bpm than what SvD plays at. Hard Prog makes no sense to me at all and it sound awful.
Really like Punk'd and stuff...but I dont see what the fuss is about...
Can't we just wait to start bashing another great dj/producer until he reaches at least top 10 status on the dj mag poll? Seems like you all are jumping the gun rather early here.
I still like Sander, saw him at Dance Valley and he was one of the best sets there imo! Once in a while he takes his sets to weird and stupid places but I find for the most part he's full of energy and is a dancefloor destroyer.

As far as DOOMBOT is concerned, if you're not down on your knee's and tonguing their balls then technically you are 'bashing' them.
Fanboys.

He has pretty much developed his own sound and style with his tracks and his sets. That, to me, is a great thing for people who enjoy EDM and the scene in general. Its neat you can go see a dj like Armin, PvD, Tiesto, etc.. and hear them drop his tracks. Then you go see him perform a dj set and it sounds nothing like what they are playing. |
Never was a fan. Never heard him much. Don't like that type of music.
