The whole croc-hunter/germaine greer thing
thoughts?
i dunno i saw some interview on channell 9 and thought it was probably the worst interview i have ever seen.
other than that i struggle for thoughts.....
was she asked a specific question that launched her tirade or did she volunteer it? i can understand her bothering if she was asked a question, but otherwise i wonder why she thinks any of us give two fucks about what she thinks. bitter old hag.
omg that interview was so funny, News reporter was ripping that little bitch up and she deserved every bit of it!!
Sure i use to be another one of those people who would make smartass comments about the way Steve acted and spoke. But he didnt care.. He loved it and he kept hes show rolling. Good on him!
As much as i did take the piss though, I disagree with the old cow saying Steve Irwin was an embarressment to Australia and way we speak and act. For one, the time between hes death and saying such a thing on national television is just to little. And i completely agree with the reporter when he said she was bitter, and Australia IS mourning hes death. You just dont say such things about a dead person.
To be honest though, im more worried about the poll being hosted as to whether or not the video of Steves death should be broadcasted?
W..T..F.. ? Who honestly even considered this idea? What about respect for a dead person? What about the children who could accidently see this? The fact that (and we all know) if that video IS broadcasted it will make its way onto the internet and be turned into Avatars/Popup Ads/Spam email.. There are so many sick fucks in the world who would get off to something like this!!
How would you like to die knowing your children and wife could be forever terrorized when they simply go online or just walk past a computer and this video is playing or being comicaly used as a avatar?
Shits me to tears
/endrant
Germaine Greer is such a tosspot/complete f-wit and has absolutely no credibilty whatsoever to comment on Steve Irwin. All she's doing is consolidating the fact that she's a moron.
yeah she's a moron. We already knew that though............

Steve had always ordered his crew to carry on filming even if he was mauled to death. So the graphic footage showing Steve, 44, being speared to death off Australia's Great Barrier Reef is set for a sensational broadcast. Queensland Police seized the tapes as the death sent shockwaves around the world. But it is understood Steve's family have vowed to grant the real-life Crocodile Dundee his "dying wish". Steve famously said: "My number one rule is to keep that camera rolling. Even if it's shaky or slightly out of focus, I don't give a rip! |

Including his own family who is trying to deal with this crap as it is. Not to mention 8 yr old daughter. |
again, who are you to tell the rest of us what is acceptable? if his family chooses not to release it, thats their decision, which i respect. it certainly has absolutely nothing to do with you. | quote: |

| Originally posted by occrider Offhand I would say showing his death would do far more with respect to accident analysis in preventing the mistakes of others that could possibly save lives other than it would be used as a tool for criticism that would offend his kids. Obviously this is Steve's and the family's decision however, it would appear that they have weighed in on the issue to some extent. I have to agree with pkcraistlin to a certain extent that Irwin did indulge in a tv personality that encouraged full disclosure. I think Irwin fully realised this which explains his very open wishes in hte event that he died. I don't think we should dictate standards that we supscribe to when we talk about what is best for him and his family. |

| again, its up to his family, not you. |

| Originally posted by Fl@k Monkey That was my point. Newscasters are asking the world if we want to see it and its not upto us. It's upto his family. Whatever man, Personal opinion. (which is what a forum is for) |
it's more the idea of the public focus being on him that makes them against the state funeral rather than the cameras i think mate. His father was talking about how he was an ordinary Australian through and through so he wouldn't have liked the big idea of such a big fuss over his death.
germaine greer meh, attention seeker, who cares.
i saw this and just felt disgusted, she deserves to be run over by a bus so people can say its her fault for walking on a road.
and yes she did it for attention but the only way to fight them is with negativity.
Anyone see Sam Newman rip into her last nite?? hhahaha eat a turd you stanky mole!!

You really are a charming lot sometimes!
I don't like Germaine much [the attention getting is annoying!] But, there usually is a base of truth in her writings and she has put her money where her mouth is on this occassion . She did buy up a chunk of rainforest and ,consulting environmentalists, got her hands personally dirty to restore it. She's her own worst enemy.
damn feminist.
can anyone tell me what she said or done?
we dont have aca in malta
as for the video being released, it eventually will but i dont think its the right thing to do, even if he said to always film, i doubt he ever thought about dying on film, if he did it was probably a fleeting moment
