longest dj set.
we were discussing this topic today in our school radio.
that longest i know of is danny tenaglia 15 hour set.
anyone else???
Tiesto played an 18-hour set sometime back in 1998 or 1999...I am very bad with chronological stuff...but there are more DJs who spun longer sets I reckon..

DJ Sets Record!
DJ Sets Record!
16 October 2001
A UK DJ has attempted to set the record for the longest DJ session of all time by playing continuously for 48 hours and three minutes ...
... According to a report on Ananova, Richard Dolby, who started the session at Bristol's Lakota club on Friday last week, said that by Saturday night, he was so tired that he had began to hallucinate. One of the conditions set by Guiness was that the club should remain open during the whole attempt. 'The Saturday and Sunday mornings were the hardest sessions to get through as the club was quite empty and there weren't that many clubbers there' Dolby said.
Dolby was allowed a 15 minute break every eight hours and was not allowed to play the same record more than once. If judges at Guiness decide that he has been successful, his will be the first record of this type to be included in the Guiness World Records history.
longest DJ set ever was 100 hours by a local DJ from Berlicum (little place near my place)
now how the hell did he stayed up for 100 hours? Its almost impossible t stay up for 48 hours unless u cracked out on drugs

i unno about the 100 hour set, but i know for a fact that a dj spun for 72 not too long ago. www.djmartinboss.com
Yes DJ Martin Boss spun for 72 hours straight, here in Orlando. And is now the offical world record holder. I stopped in to check him out on the last day...it was pretty interesting, nothing special to see though. I guess the sponsers made him take a drug test before and after to make sure he did it all natural.

heres wha i got...
72 hour world record has been set!!!
On Feb 4th 2002 DJ Martin Boss (add a .com for website) made history by doing
what no other DJ has done before in regards to human endurance. He blew away the previous record of 48 hour Marathon DJ set by playing records for 72 hours with no sleep!
His incredible feat started on Feb 1st at 2pm and ended on Feb 4th at 4pm. (Due to Guinness rules in regards to human
endurance records Martin was required take a 15 minute break evey 8 hours. Martin also took a drug test of his own free will before and after.)
Many people all over the world were witness to this event. There were over 101 thousand visits to his web-site over the course of those 3 days!
Not only did he manage to stay awake but he consistently mixed flawlessly to the awe of all in attendance, playing all styles of electronic music.
The last 2 hours of the set were incredible as he created an energy in the room that gave goosebumps to those in person as well as those over the internet!
People tuned in from every country in the world such as France, Spain, Austria, Australia, England, Ibiza, Scotland, Greece, Paraguay, Canada, to name a few.
Here are some of many quotes from those that had the opportunity to witness this event:
RavenFoxx-
"This is dope, a worldwide party online"
DJ Johnny Cruz-
"Boys and Girls, history is being made this weekend"
Tightbeats (login name in chat room)-
"If I had to pick one song that describes Martin, I think I would pick flawless because thats what he is...absolutely flawless!"
Mr Fresh (Hour 65 into world record)-
"... he's mixing freely, strong and tight still!!!"
Yellowvwkid-
"The thing that impresses me as much as the quantity of music he has played, is the quality. Its all great stuff, the guy sure can pick a record! 'MARTIN IS GOD' "
El Poeta (Argentina)-
"It's a bird...? It's a plane...? No, It's DJ Martin Boss!"
Paul Akers (Winona MN)-
"First of all, THAT WAS AWESOME! 72 hours of straight mixing madness man, you rock! Thank you for the awesome mix through the web cam! Thanks Martin!!!"
Elaine Del Degan (DJ Honey Mustard, Calgary, Alberta, Canada)-
"I wanted to say thank you for showing people what a true DJ can really be
and injecting some positive energy into the Electronic music scene. There are so many of us around the earth that live and breathe electronic music and it's hard when half of the world is trying to stop something it doesn't understand. You bring positive awareness and you rock!!!!"
Troy @ 180 records (Iowa)-
"Is anybody else checking this out? He is damn impressive especially since he has been spinning for 48+ hours already. He is still laying down some tight tracks and mixing is pretty flawless. Already heard him thrown down some house, techno, and now some trance. I kinda laughed at this at first
but he is a damn good DJ."
We would like to thank all the people that made this happen, all our friends and peers! You know who you are!
We would also like to thank all the sponsors and Vinyl Frontier for helping to make this such a success!

The poor bloke just did his math wrong as 4 days = 96 hours.
And yeah, Martin Boss' feat is quite amazing. I still can't believe he wasn't on anything, not saying that DJs do drugs, but to stay up for 3 days straight... damn.
72 hours, shit absolutely amazing....
Anyone knows if the Martin Boss set is available for download?
