Arrow The Most Remixed Tune Ever (Discussion for the intellects)

I was working today, and I can't help but have my mind wander off. I though to myself; "What tune has been remixed the most"?

Personally I kind of view it depending on how many times I've seen a remix pop up. One of the tops on my list is Yahel's "Voyage". One more I've seen a lot is Oceanlab's "Satellite", anyone have any unbiased facts they want to share?

Anything by the KLF

Particularly What Time Is Love which is possibly the most remixed dance track of all time. There have been approximately 70 of their own remixes, not to mention how many bootleg remixes. I've seen some of the rarer vinyls change hands for over 2500.

They even had an album called 'The What Time Is Love Story', containing remixes of the track that people had just decided to do. No one asked permission to remix it, so the KLF never asked for their permission to include it on their album. Sweet!

Don't see how it could be Voyage, because there's a grand total of 1 official remix (Magikal Remake). Difficult to answer this question anyway, as it depends on whether you mean official or unofficial remixes. If it's the latter case then there's a Depeche Mode song (I forget which) with over 300 remixes. If you mean officially released mixes then I think it'd probably be Cafe Del Mar but that's a guess.

i have to agree with depeche mode. Actually i was thinking about them even before i read the post. there are about a zillion remixes of theirs.

The only reason I say "Voyage" sits as one of the top is, because it seems that way to me, I mean so many people I meet have at one point remixed it or I have seen so many bootleg remixes somewhere.

can you please list all those remixes you are refering to. Except for the Magikal remake I fail to see how you can mention it as the most remixed tune. Even if all the bootlegs are included.

as usual depeche mode wins by a landslide...no contest

Great story, love it! Depeche have a lot of club orientated mixes of their tracks but you can't really class them officially as a "dance" act. For pure dance releases with many remixes, what about Three Drives - Greece 2000? Seen about 20 mixes of that track.

For pure "dance" as you say, then i'd say the best candidates have already been mentioned, along with Greece 2000 which by now has around 30 official remixes. I might make mix lists of the top choices, like i used to do in threads like this hahaha, later on when i have a longer moment to spare.

I think Gouryella - Ligaya was remixed quite often too alongside with Energy 52 - Cafe Del mar and Binary Finary 1998/1999/2000

as for Oceanlab - Satellite: There's been a remix contest back then, that might explain the flood of remixes

Its more a case of the 'Go!!' sample being used a lot rather than lots of remixes of Moby's - Go.

My suggestions for most remixed have been mentioned already

Cafe Del Mar
Greece 2000

Not dance tracks but 'Song to the siren' by This Mortal Coil and 'Fine Day' by Opus III have been remixed / sampled loads over the years.
