Why does the management of Guvy seem to save $ by not booking headliners for the big events like New Year's Eve, Halloween and etc.?

Following your logic, Guvy shouldn't book headliners on any day of the year for the fear of it being overpacked. What do they have their staff for then.....just for standing there and flexing their abnormally large triceps? The staff should know the limit, they should know when to stop letting people in. How about a better management of the place, have you heard of that or your mind which is constantly being intoxicated by alcohol cannot comprehend it? How come other clubs around the world can host a headliner on a Halloween?
What now we have to suffer this year because it was mismanaged last year?

I doubt the reason that there isn't an "international talent" headlining the mainroom is because last year they had lawler and were over packed LOL....guv is over packed pretty much every time they do a special event.

Its kinda shitty that they go from Lawler last year to just MO this year (no disrespect to MO) Im sure it will be a good party regardless.....

Loco Dice is headlining the Drink on this night which would be worth checking out.....

well if you think about it....

60 percent or more of the crowd is in costume...making it hot and uncomfortable...add a big headliner and it just gets worse....

that lawler party was no good untill the gallery afterparty.
It has ALWAYS been MO SOLO on halloween..last year was the exception. it should stay this way....MO SOLO all the way!!!

What I'm worried about is if The Drink is going to be rammed beyond belief. I'm really skeptical of this event considering how much of a shitshow the Guv was last Halloween. I'm definately willing to check it out though. If it's bad, I'll just go to Sonic.

That said, I'm really excited for this. To me, The Drink is the best venue in Toronto for Locodice, or any minimal DJ. Small, good sound system, and good lighting. I hope they have it reeeeeeeally dark in there for Loco.

I know I wouldn't leave that room for a second, no matter who else was playing in the other rooms, that's for sure. I hope Locodice gets a good reception so that this is more of a possiblity.

Tell me of a soundsystem in Toronto that has a better soundsystem than The Drink besides Sonic.

oh whoa whoa whoa Loco. i just finished checkin his website b4 checkin this out and i saw he had 2 dates @ Aria in 3 wks but nothing in toronto. dirtiest halloween wkend ever!!!

I have no idea what sound system the drink uses...I rarely go up there, but I wasn't impressed that night for Guv 10 year. The trebal was too high at one point. Perhaps it was just an off night.

The issue is that did not account for the costumes taking up extra space and just kept a constant head count all night. When I left a 4AM there was still a line around the block of people waiting to get in. The time change that night did not help either.
