Babel Movie

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449467/

Awesome!

Loved it!

People say it's another 'Crash' but I dunno, I never saw crash. This was awesome though, great acting and even thought it was a Brad Pitt movie it wasn't just like BRAD PITT BRAD PITT- well acted, well shot, well scored!

IDs

Fatboy Slim - The Joker (ATFC dub or remix not sure on how it's labelled)

Yeah, it offically due out end of october, it was being screened at the Noveau Film Festival here in Montreal

Gripping film!

*Ignorant*

what's it about?

Posted by Allied Nations on Oct-23-2006 03:05:

Three stories set in Morocco, Tunisia, Mexico and Japan. The story begins with a tragedy striking a married couple on vacation.

It's basically a whole bunch of mini stories linked together by a series of coincidences- very sad film in many ways. there's like 6 different paths-

2 of them end well
2 end badly
2 are unknown

Crash is by far one of the most overrated movies ever.

Indeed.

Crash tried too hard. It knew it was an emotional tear jerky heated controvertial script and spent every second reminding us of that. You can't force teh epic.

i like comedies

Posted by Minhaj on Oct-23-2006 12:24:

looks like a great movie
but i think this whole crash-format of movie making is getting kinda played out

Posted by kush paintings on Oct-23-2006 14:02:

Yeah, I kind of agree. I mean these films (21 Grams, Amores Perros, Crash, etc.) all do kind of unfold in similar ways with synchronicity at the center, but they are never predictable. I do believe, however, that the director of Babel, Alejandro Irritu, does need to branch out and try something else, before his films do get predictable and begin to run together. Keep in mind now, this is the third film that he is using the same formula with.

Exactly. It tried way too hard to cover all these controversial topics but failed so miserably at presenting them in a good, thought-provoking way.

This movie was just really dramatic and gripping, had me really into it, sure, you could predict some of the stuff that would happen, but nothing was too obvious- also, visuals were incredible- top notch!

I really wanna check Babel out. Read about it in the paper during the Toronto Film Festival and it sounded pretty interesting. Hopefully it won't be like Crash.

It's a nice story, or set of stories. Good amount of stereotypes exposed in this film. I liked it.

The Pitt guy is actually good in this film. Not what you usually expect from him.

The story that caught my attention the most was that of the young kid.

Good film.

Because it's a film with Brad Pitt, not a Brad Pitt film.

He's a good actor. His acting in Se7en was decent. But when he does movies like Mr. & Mrs. Smith, well, one can't help but think he's only in it for the money.
