Sasha's Delay effect in Ableton

hi

take a look at this video...

now, from the 0:35 to 0:40 second mark, you hear the delay effect... i was wondering if anyone knows how one can achieve that (audio effects withing ableton etc..)

just curious...

thanks

oh btw: which track is this?

Posted by Blake_Jarrell on Nov-21-2006 23:17:

ping pong delay with a knob to control feedback. ping pong is eqed to high frequencies.

I just put a delay on the A send, and turn it up when i want the song to be delayed... it's really simple actually

ping pong goes back and forth between the left and rights, whereas simple delay is sort of like an echo

and the track is Hott22 - I Feel Love

He has a special way of using filter delay in ableton, and I'm not sure how to get it set up the way he has it.

That track is Hott 22 - I Feel Love I believe.

Its not simple delay or ping pong, its filter delay. I use a combo of 2 ping pong delays and a simple delay in my A return for the same effect, but it isnt quite as nice sounding as his

And don't forget a post-delay compressor/limiter so that it doesn't get too LOUD!

It really doesn't sound like just ping pong delay. I've played with it every which way and I can't get the same sound out of it.

Maybe I'm just a retard.

It's not just ping pong, I'm quite certain. I've spent a lot of time fucking around with filters / delays and combining ping pongs / simple delays / etc ... and, like you said, I can't get it to sound quite the same. Got some fun results though in the process.

hm...

his delay effect has the sharp - edgy sound to it.. which i just love. im sure its not from the ping pong delay cuz ive also messed with it every way i can think of..

one of these days Mabel.. one of these days.

That's a lot of random stuff to be having on one send

Posted by Durrrtysouth on Nov-22-2006 00:13:

It is a simple 3/4 delay. Nothing more.

Well I don't see how supertrigger and filter delay would work at the same time, so he does have a point
