Congratulations on making another thread that will only lead to pointless arguing, confusion and endless rambling by people thinking they know better than everybody else (you know who you are).

Posted by jahnlay on Dec-05-2006 13:19:

It was actually just to get an idea of what everyone felt, not a competition or anything. Everyone has their own view on what sounds like a particular genre and that's their opinion. Would just be interesting to get TA's opinions.

C'mon, I thought this was a music discussion forum, where music gets discussed, grow up and stay on topic instead of giving fart-arse excuses!

Posted by Ryarni on Dec-05-2006 13:49:

Im with Johnlay, its mindless opinions that create arguments not the topics

Posted by jahnlay on Dec-05-2006 14:01:

Cool, thanks Ryarni, so give us your opinions, just copy and paste the genres and put your artists and labels in each one.

I've yet to see a discussion about genres and their names not resulting in endless rambling by people thinking they know it best. We've been there, it doesn't work.

Posted by jahnlay on Dec-05-2006 14:12:

This is not asking for your ramblings, just post what artists and labels you think are best suited to each genre and stop arguing your own silly little point, Basd.

Posted by basd on Dec-05-2006 15:04:

Everyone just posting a list is not a discussion either, while discussion was what you were asking for.

Plus, it's not 'my silly little point'. It's an observation.

But whatever, I'll stop posting in this thread. Have fun with it.

Posted by jahnlay on Dec-05-2006 15:12:

Does the thread ask for a discussion, no, it asks for examples, tinhead.

Posted by jahnlay on Dec-05-2006 16:33:

by posting examples you might see how much everyone actually has in common

But you see what it has lead to this far.

<--- Totally this guy over here. (Don't tell him I said that.)

Write a letter to a few leading UK dance magazines... they're the bloody idiots that thought up these stupid things in the first place.

Posted by PETRAN on Dec-05-2006 21:38:

Ah and i was going to make a thread on whether genres are subjective or objective...

Posted by jahnlay on Dec-05-2006 21:51:

I mean, what's the problem here, you write a thread asking for honest examples and all people do is write bullshit answers. What is that? I thought this forum had more maturity, or at least some intellect. Wait, it's not even rocket science, just post what you think the artists and labels should be in, no one's gonna rip you apart for it, and if they do, so what?

Posted by MichaelBoogerd! on Dec-05-2006 21:54:

I have an idea, a TA Kindergarten section

where every over-requested topic about ballshit like this can be played out between all the kiddies on the forum who feel the need to pigeonhole everything they do into categories.

Posted by jahnlay on Dec-05-2006 22:00:

Hey, I didn't write the categories, just want a better understanding of them, you luddite.

Well you got that one wrong, but if you stay in the DJ Booth and Production forum you'll be OK. Outside of that the IQ falls off considerably.

Posted by jahnlay on Dec-05-2006 22:53:

Hey Zild, good to see some intelligent life in here, how's it going? How about your examples?

Posted by Clovis on Dec-05-2006 22:55:

I try to pay as little attention to genre classifications as possible...

Posted by jahnlay on Dec-05-2006 23:04:

Yea, feel better now? Then don't bother answering the thread, dickwad!

I have never destroyed machinery under the belief that it is undermining the society i live in, so i fail to see how calling me that truly applies. You Gimp.

Might i suggest you also find a sociological forum somewhere online, to discuss diffent social categories too... it appears you are missing some key points on how to distinguish who belongs where
