Any of you kicked the soda drinking habit?

I love drinking coke, I used to drink it daily, but now I have stopped since Tuesday. I am drinking water (always was a water drinker) fruit punch and lemonade. But now I have been told the fruit punch and the lemonade have high amounts of sugar. So, what can I drink to satisfy my cravings?

Fruit juice, real fruit juice, not the crap with added sugar and water. Just keep thinking of how nice your skin will look.

Posted by Clinkz913 on Dec-17-2006 02:28:

water mainly

I also have a fruit/veggie blend that is clearin up my skin drastically right now!!!!

Love my Coke or any type of pop, but I don't drink it as much as I use to. Drink a ton of water and have been drinking a lot more juice lately.

Most of the time I drink lightly sparkling flavoured water, fruit juice, green tea and water. So yeah, in a way I've kicked the sodas.

I did, its been almost 2 years that i had coke or any pop drink. Some how my throat goes bad if i drink juice made from concentrate. I drink lot of water and may be cafe/tea once a day.

I can't eat chips or anything salty without soda.

I'm not against drinking soda, I just haven't eaten a lot of salty food!

I've just drunk coke... but I only do that on the weekend

I usually drink water, sometimes Propel just because it's there.

Im addicted to soda. I'm not joking. I probably drink about 2L per day.

Posted by guster on Dec-17-2006 03:13:

Just polished off a Vault.. mmmmmmm. And the caffeine jolt!

so.. no. I know I'd probably lose 10 pounds if I quit drinking sodas.

I'm a fatty.

Stopped drinking pop/soda on a regular basis when I started university. I replaced it with water, tea and beer.

I used to drink a lot of soda when I was in high school. Mainly Coke. I hate Pepsi.

Recently I've stopped though, too much sugar. Its not good for you. The only time i drink it now is when its mixed with rum (I actually prefer diet when its mixed with rum) or with jack.

When I'm not drinking alcohol, pretty much all I drink is Tea (normally Iced, I hardly drink coffee), and carbonated water. I find carbonated water is a good substitute for soda. I realized my favorite thing about soda was the carbonation. It helped soothe my stomach. But I figured carbonated water does the job just fine and is much better for you than soda

Right now I'm drinking Sunkist and Canada Dry Ginger Ale, as Coca-Cola prices were a bit high. Once those drop, I'll move back to Coke and Vault. I'll drink any soda drink though, caffeine or not (but I prefer it caffeinated.) And I don't plan on quitting anytime soon.

I really don't see the point in not drinking it. I drink anywhere from 4 to 8 cans a day, but I also drink milk. I like orange juice, but uh, neither of the two I see as a replacement for regular drinking, and I don't drink alcohol, ever.

What's this about 'clearing up skin' ? I'm not familiar with the connection to juices...

4 to 8 cans is a lot of soda. All that sugar is bad for your liver and can increase your risk getting diabetes when you get older.

Course I'm a bit of a hipocrite as I drink lots of alcohol

Wow, is that a quote from Smallville in your sig?

I think it has to do with acne type problems which are sometimes linked to high amounts of sugar in one's diet. I don't know if this connection is actually supported by medical studies or not, but it is a common perception as immortalized in a memorable commercial that used to run on tv (in Canada anyway, but here's a terrible parody of that commercial.) So I guess wheras juice still contains loads of sugar, it is still far short of what most types of soda/pop contain, which is pretty scary really.

most of the drinks you get in stores are packed with sugar. juice, soda, whatever. i try to stay away from soda but i like sprite the most. i'm an iced tea drinker. and whoever said they drink 4-8 cans of soda a day is freakin crazy. that's a shit-ton of coke, son.

do you call it "soda" or "pop"?

I used to be a big soda drinker...now its water, iced tea, juice, gatorade. I dorpped a few pounds too...its just empty calories. Once in a while I will have some, but its not required like it used to be.

Posted by Yan on Dec-17-2006 06:51:

Never been too big into soda.

Actually, I used to drink diet coke quite a bit a ways back...

But now it's 95% water.

Posted by Ted Promo on Dec-17-2006 07:06:

I'm 90% water. The only other stuff I drink is milk, orange juice, and alcohol on occasion.

Posted by gtron on Dec-17-2006 07:24:
