Your best club/party night of 2006?
Your best club/party night of 06?
me-Carl Cox @ Ruby Skye Oct/06...nasty music all night long, 4 hour set of maddness until the lights came on.
you should have waited 24 hours to post this thread...
tonight is THEE biggest night in clubbing lol.
Haha... Junior has a point.. but if we dont count tonight..
no question.. Digweed/Tenaglia weekend at Ruby Skye first saturday in January... no doubt! Left Ruby Skye at 12noon and Tenaglia was still going strong!
Hands down July 3rd Armin @ Spundae (Ruby Skye).
The place was more packed than Tiesto at Ruby 2 months prior imho. The line was wrapped around the building.
That night was epic and the set was fucking flawless.
Infact, that whole weekend was may fav of the year; Saturday - Donald Glaude, Sunday - Eddie Halliwell, Monday - Armin.
Then Tuesday, 4th of July, recovery mode watching fireworks over the Golden Gate bridge.
Great summer indeed.
Jason
The Love from Above and Love Parade Berlin! ...and flying over and back for $62 (even though I did save frequent flier miles for 5 years to do it...lol)!
hands down... DAFT PUNK @ COACHELLA!!!!
I agree with DJ Woody!
Daft Punk @ Coachella was definitely the best party night of the Year!
(It might even end up being the best party night of my life because it was THAT good!)

Oh man I don't even know where to begin.
Digweed in June or whatever (I forget
)
Hell, Digweed in January!
Armin van Buuren on July 3rd. INCREDIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dunno, everytime people starts talking about him going a bit downhill he comes to SF and redeems himself. I dunno what it is about him and SF, but he's always top notch here. Especially compared to when he plays in LA.
Ferry when he played over the summer was also insane.
Then there was Sander van Doorn in January. BLEW ME THE FUCK AWAY!!! Never really looked into him as a DJ, but went to see how he was knowing how much I loved his productions. It was a last minute decision, too, and I'm glad I made it. It was a great night. As his set continued on people just migrated from the other rooms in Ten15 to the main room and never left. And then when he was done, he hung around for like an hour and a half and chatted and upon leaving he made sure to come back to everyone who talked to him and say bye. Total class act.
I need a full calendar, because I imagine I'm forgetting plenty.

this is really hard for me because about half my year was spent in Houston, and the other half in SF. So I'm gonna give a favorite from each, to spare myself misery:
Houston: John Digweed @ M-bar, closely followed by Hernan Cattaneo @ Clark's & Dean's.
SF: Lee Burridge @ LoveLee, Mezzanine, in a neck-and-neck tie with Sasha @ Ruby Skye.
If I had to say: Digweed @ M-bar was the best music. Lee Burridge @ LoveLee was the most fun. Sasha was the most personally emotional and moving. Cattaneo was the best pleasant surprise (ever).
Honorable mentions also going to Infusion live PA in Houston, Carl Cox at ruby skye, and Bassnectar in Houston.
Wish to hell that I had seen Daft Punk @ Coachella. Seeing them live in concert is one of my life goals, right up there with graduating from college.
I didn't go out clubbing that much this year but for me Sander Van Doorn at 1015. I enjoyed listening to his sets since 2004 and didn't want to miss out on his SF debut.
Tiesto in Tijuana!!!
the armada party early in the year (January i think)w/ Armin, Rank 1, Interstate, at spundae was fucking awesome as well.
sasha and digweed, NEW YEARS EVE
wooooooooohooooooooooo
Oh yeah I forgot... Tiesto in Rosarito and Tiesto in Tijuana were both favorites too! I really dont have a favorite from LA.
Daft Punk at Coachella of course! Insane night, blew my socks off!
And another one that nobody has said yet, Eric Morillo at Avalon. WOW so fun!

&
Danny Tenaglia @ Pawn Shop, Miami, FL, WMC March 2006
&
Steve Lawler @ The Guv/Skybar set, TOronto, ON, June 2006
John Digweed @ The Mayan
- Armin Van Buuren @ Ruby Skye, July 3rd
I knew the night was going to be awesome, Spundae parties always are when they happen on the last night of a holiday weekend; but he played an amazing set the night and opening up with Syd Gris was a great experience.
We have such different but complimentary styles to one another and we just improvised that whole opening set, which turned out great.
- Jeff Mills @ Mighty, November 25th - I love techno and it was my birthday. Plus Jeff's debut SF appearance.
- John Digweed/Tenaglia weekend. I was there for every second of it, great music both nights.
- Opel's 4 Year Anniverary, March 18th @ Mezzanine. This party was absolute crazy fun madness. There was so much energy at this event.
- Spundae and Flirty Flirty Pool Parties @ Bambuddha - Those were fun =)
there's a few more I'll add later
