do u really even need that many channels? lol..

Posted by Ryan0751 on Jan-19-2007 16:35:

For use as a MIDI controller and ableton, sure!

Though there seems to be a lack of clip launch buttons.

Haha, the mixer has a "guitar" input. Interesting mix of things on this unit.

Wow

Posted by SPAWNmaster on Jan-19-2007 17:02:

that zero8 looks amazing....once we get some reviews and pricing and whatnot i could even sell my djm800 for this! haha

Posted by Nightflowers on Jan-19-2007 17:16:

actually I've the kaoss mixer 2 (wich have only 2 channels).
Can't wait to have more infos on those 2 new mixers

If the faders are solid on the Zero8, Like Penny & Giles or Non-conact faders or something, I would seriously consider buying it. It looks absolutely incredible.

This would help me combine all my different musical projects into the one workstation. I really hope this isn't a gimmicky product. If this is the real deal this could be one of the best mixers ever.

Posted by ASFSE on Jan-19-2007 18:19:

looks pretty neat, can't wait to hear about how it handles tho.

Posted by Rebel Brown on Jan-19-2007 19:11:

COMPLETE MIDI control surface? Am I right in saying that the whole mixer is MIDI assignable?

If so, from reading through the website it looks like the Zero 4 is exactly what I'm after. And just to top it off, all of the backlights of the EQs and input knobs turn blue when there's a digital input!

If I don't have to chop my left bollock off to buy one of these things (which I expect I will do), I'm sold.

Edit bit - More piccies!

Edit bit 2 - Bigger piccies!

That Zero8 looks unreal with all the backlighting.. haha.. But I think the Zero4 would be more than enough for me..

FUCK.YES.

can't wait to see the price vs. the djm800

Posted by Rebel Brown on Jan-21-2007 00:32:

I'm expecting to see the Zero 8 come very near the DJM 800, probably more to be honest. It's a serious bit of kit.

Upon further research I've found out that on the Zero 4 only the EQ/channel FX section, the faders and the cue buttons in the centre of the mixer are capable of MIDI output, it looks like the right hand side of the mixer that controls the looping, master FX and master/booth volumes are for audio output only. According to Korg that equals 32 knobs, four switches, 12 buttons and four sliders.

I really can't wait for some videos/reviews of these to come out, I'm now withstanding from buying some MIDI controllers until I can see what these badboys are capable of. Roll on May!

That Zero 8 looks pretty hot...

Sounds like some competition for the Nuo4... Interesting.....

Posted by nefardec on Jan-21-2007 01:45:

we'll see The NUO4 has 89 MIDI commands in total...and the famous ECLER sound and build quality.

I'm actually at NAMM, and got a chance to see the Korgs for myself...theyre actually pretty cool! Slightly on the "toy" side for me...but they seem to be pretty interesting. No word on specs, reliabiliy or sound quality...but we'll see!

For those of you interested there is a video about halfdown down the page on this link.

It also states the prices... around $2000 for the Zero 8, and $1299 for the Zero 4.

Posted by SPAWNmaster on Jan-24-2007 01:41:

you beat me to it! anyway, ill most likely be picking up the zero8 after selling my djm800. either that or getting the zero4 in addition to my 800. we'll see how the reviews are though

but still, .....it's gonna be a whore

Posted by MiguelD on Jan-25-2007 17:29:

this question is to be expected in ths thread...what should i get? pio`s a&h or korg???

Posted by plaxx on Jan-25-2007 18:08:

If the price is right, I wouldn't hesitate getting a Zero8. IT looks absolutely amazing and full of functions. Also, I like how the design/look & feel is geared towards ableton.

Wow.. Korg was the last company I would expect this from. Great job.
