Digital Camera suggestion? (good 4 club vids/shots)

Was wondering if anyone could suggest a compact (ie fit in my pocket), good digital camera that can take descent videos and capture the music as well in clubs without getting distorted sound. I've noticed that when bass bins hit the sound just gets distorted.

Are there any specifications I should be looking for?

I love my Sony DSC-T1.

When it dies I will replace it with a Sony DSC-T50.

go with canon or nikon or pentax.. canons are the best for low lighting. i have the sd 600 and i love it except it needs to get fixed cuz the lens is messed, my pics are fuzzy

Been loving my Canon SD630 for a while now. Takes really good shots when set to the right settings.

+1. Really good cam.

I recommend Canon SD600: 299 @ Dell.ca

or SD630: 329 @ Costco.ca

I tend to agree.. when I was buying it came down to that or Nikon. I ended up buying the Nikon cause it was slightly more compact and a better deal. It takes good pictures and all but its major setback is that it takes forever to recharge after taking a shot with flash. For that reason alone, I wish I would have gone for the Canon.

It's a half-decent camera, but the Canon SD600 is marginally better.

ok i guess you tried to make a joke..

i am serious...

sorry that i dont know much about cameras

anyway, i am trying to avoid a canon since ive had problems with them..

i had a SD300 and it just stopped working (NO I DIDNT DROP IT OR DO ANYTHING TO IT)
then i had a SD400 and that one had problems also..

so i dunno if i should try my luck with canon again..
and i hate sony...

so i dunno what my options are..

I want a nice small skinny camera like the SD series...nothing bluky or thick..

and can someone actually tell me reasons why that casio camera is bad, besides just saying casio sucks or somethin along those lines...i mean give me technical answers..

thank you

Thnx for the responses... I like the one about "fu!# the camera and just go out and dance" or somethng along those lines (: trust me I do I just need a camera now for trips and on occassion the club and especially taking video shots and maintaining some descent sound quality. I've used video capture outside of clubs like @ carnival in Brazil and got pretty good sound capture from far distance but there was no bass like there that in the Guv!

djakio you say you use the sd630 for videos/promos - hows the sound quality when the bass hits? The last canon I was using the sound got distorted whenever bass hit (am I asking too much / maybe digital cameras just don't have the mic/capability to capture music at club volumes?). I just want to have some good memories captured cause I'll probably have to stop this clubbing eventually ): Would you have any video shots captured with this camera?

I think its your settings due. i get those little coloured light marks when i have it on night setting ... the lense stays open longer and captures the lights.... check that out, if not, ur camera is bunked and needs to see henry!
