Oakenfold played after midnight. The freakin sound kept shutting off (I think it had somehthing to do with the visuals).

Wish it went longer. Oakenfold wasn't that happy when I told him he had only 10 minutes. I won't be able to make his other shows @ Vanguard and Mary so I'm happy I got to see him @ a venue where I know the whole staff.

And I dont care how much coke she takes as long as she doesnt disappoint (and she didnt last night)

What is Velo doing? He doesnt have monitors?

Posted by Rukes on Feb-08-2007 05:33:

Velo doesn't need monitors, he does the visuals.

As for the sound cutting out, it was because the venue used this $5 radio shack surge protector to hook up the CDJs, so whenever someone went near the power cord, the power shut off At least thats what I heard...

lol thats what I figured looking at more pics. I like these most from your recent pics, you used alot more natural lighting no?

Yeah, I did. The whole venue was pretty much black or painted black, so I did some more experiments with natural lighting. The visuals helped a ton in that, as well as not having to take pics of people

I think I will start doing more of a mix of both.

Yeah, I miss your shots from Avalon using the club lights more than the flash. Seems like its harder to do that at Vanguard.

Great job on the visuals! The Knitting Factory staff and security love EDM events. They are used to hard core bands.

Sound shutting off happens. No one wants it to happen. Its nice when the DJ works a little harder afterwards to get the crowd back on their toes.

I remember the sound going off for about 5 min when Armin Van Buuren was @ Ten, but he came back strong with an upbeat song.

Doesn't happen at good clubs

haha it was closer to 15mins. he could have easily played 3 tracks in the time it was out.
