Russian and Ukranian army advertisements

I should say in advance it's made by pro-Putin movement Nashi (Not by Military of Defence) that's why the main point is made on how evil foreign countries (i.e. America) are. In generally they call for a patriotic feeling of young population to go serve for their motherland. They don't explain that thousands of soldiers get injured / killed every year. It's very very silly.

Looks silly too, but not because of the content, but because filmed very badly.

LOL @ Ukranian commercial. If you want chicks, get into the army !! Nice message they give out. When the time comes to die for the country, they will run into the clubs and hide behind these chicks.

star-traveller, whats wrong with you? Of course there's problems in the Russian army, that picked up because of the fuck-up Yeltsin. Today Putin, Ivanov reorganized the army. Slowly but surely it is becoming more prestigious. Better funding, better morale after the victory in Chechnya, new system for conscripts, better pay, and in the new system conscripts will never again be sent to the battlefield without at least 6 months of training. You gotta be positive, I see the changes, from the highlight prosecution trials of the officers year-5 or so ago who were caught with abuse of power and "dedovshina". A few generals and officers were punished. A lot of things in the Russian video are true, you have to admit. Russian military is what makes it a good country - and when its weak, ill, and low morale - thats when Russia is at its weakest. Remember 1990s?

With current rate of developments in Russia, give it 10, 15 years -by then it will become prestigious again. It will not rust any further, it can't afford to anymore.

Nothing wrong with me, I just really pissed of how those bastards (Nashi) are trying to sell this bullshit to an average Russian man.

I doubt any of them has ever been there.

Well, of course that is propaganda, and I wont trust anything out of his mouth because its his job right now, but politically, strategically and historically what they said is true about Russian army. I am sure the army is not endorsing dedovshina, and new funding will make Russian army better, it will. I know it will.

The pitiest thing is that all these movements are get paid to do their job, advertise and attract people to army. How are they going do nobody cares, even if they lie 100%. You can find it everywhere in Russia, its how most of the business is going there.

army recruitment ads are pretty much the same everywhere.

It's only the way the message is portrayed that varies.

What about all the abuse thats going on?

If they want to attract people to the army, they need the soldiers themselves to promote it as being an army where they are treated like soldiers, and not have their balls cut off by "fellow soldiers" (this is just one of the horrors that goes on there)

Now that I've seen the Ukranian army ad, I completely understand why my great grandma left that country. I felt like Will Farrel was going to pop up in the ad because it was so cheesy funny.

Russia should invade Iraq and fight US forces there.

Actually it was Romania, and Borat is supposedly from Kazakhstan, but the picture he portrays is not specifically adapted to Kazakhstan because it's equally apliccable to most former eastern block countries.
