Tiesto - Elements Of Life [Album]
In April, Tiesto will release his brand new artist album, Elements Of Life. The Dutch-born DJ has been recognized as the worldwide chart topping success that sells out stadium events, performs to billions at the Olympics, uses his muse to battle the AIDS epidemic, and consistently gives his fans what they desire. His career is filled with so many achievements that to say Tiesto is the number one DJ in the world simplifies what has taken over a decade to build, and we wouldnt sum it up as such.
This new release, Elements Of Life, is officially labeled as Tiesto's third
artist album to date, once again affirming Tiesto's status as not only a serious performer, but also as a serious musician.
Tiesto: "I am very excited about my new album and the new single from the album called "In The Dark". It's a very experimental piece of work and combines the style of rock with trance and electronic. The vocals are done by Christian Burns who I met through MySpace. This is the first time that I have combined these different genres, I have always liked rock music so it made sense."
His 2001 debut album In My Memory
included the hits Flight 643, Suburban Train and Lethal Industry. His 2004 follow-up Just Be was just as strong with the singles Traffic, Love Comes Again and Adagio For Strings. The sound of this new album has certainly progressed from Tiesto's former productions, incorporating more house and vocal elements, crafting real electronic songs instead of purely focusing on hit tracks for the dance floor.
The album includes already familiar tunes, such as the worldwide phenom, 'Dance4Life', co-written with Maxi Jazz, one half of the renowned duo Faithless. The single was released in 2006 to create awareness among young people of the AIDS/HIV epidemic, with all the proceeds benefiting the 'Dance4Life' organization. Dance4Life is a growing, worldwide project to promote awareness of HIV and AIDS by summoning the active involvement of all young people to dancefor life on a global scale.
Elements Of Life features renown guest vocalists such as innovative producer and previous Tiesto collaborator BT a.k.a. Brian Transeau, who delivers his trademark vocals on a brand new love song,Break My Fall. Independent singer/songwriter Charlotte Martin, whose voice and spirit are often compared to the likes of Kate Bush and Tori Amos, can be heard on the haunting Sweet Things. The deeply hypnotic track Can You Feel Me, allows Julie Thompson, best known from the hit Nothing by Holden & Thompson, to entrance the listener into a state of pure unadulterated pleasure.
The other male vocal on the album can be attributed to U.K.-based Christian Burns, formerly of the band BBMak and currently making new noise around the world with his band Inhaler. He is featured on In The Dark, the first new single from Elements Of Life. It is a song described by Tiesto as Rocktronic, a mix of electronic music and rock, and will get the remix treatment from Carl B. and Dirty South, accompanied by a forthcoming video. Also featured on the album is JES, famous from her tracks As The Rush Comes by Motorcycle and Like A Waterfall, bringing her celebrated style to the new hit Everything.
Elements Of Life also highlights instrumental dance floor stompers Ten Seconds Before Sunrise, Carpe Noctum and Bright Morningstar, which are all trademark Tiesto material. Eleven tracks with one bonus will make Elements Of Life one of the top electronic albums of 2007.
In support of the album, Tiesto will embark upon an Elements Of Life world tour for a year. This uniquely elongated tour, afforded by his top DJ position, will consist of distinctive events comparable to the highly successful "Tiesto In Concert" shows. While the former shows were recognized worldwide as state-of-the-art, the events comprising the Elements Of Life world tour will be something never
before witnessed... an utterly mind-blowing experience! Two featured stops will be the Ultra Music Festival in Miami on March 23rd where Tiesto will co-headline with The Cure, and then close out the Main Stage on Saturday night, April 28th at Coachella 2007, following the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The Elements Of Life tour concept features the four elements of life; air, water, earth and fire. Each of these will be seamlessly integrated within the shows to create an unforgettable and highly incomparable experience. Although venue sizes and capacities may
vary, the look and feel of each Elements Of Life show will remain consistent throughout the tour. As Tiesto is an artist not to be
missed, do not let one of his sets pass you by.

This should be good
I can't wait till april!
maybe it will be nice... he should remove nr 10 and that last one.
lol at all that bullshit marketing text.
i will listen to this though, but i don't have my hopes up. i'm afraid it'll be too poppy. but we'll see when it's released.
anyway when is the official release date (didn't see it in the post, maybe i'm blind)?

I'm skeptical of the direction he's taking if he's going to put the Pirates remix in there. It's not a terrible song, but I wouldn't call it 'serious', it's just some mindless fun.

skeptical..what a word
I'm hoping it'll be a great album, but actually I don't expect too much from it either. Pirates still is an OK song, but the fact that Dance4Life is on it does concern me
and this doesn't make me any happier:

interesting... i thought it was sup. to be out in march... let's see what tijs has this time around. i'm curious to see what this new sound with elements of house will be like.
Pretty clearly a pop album in the mold of Just Be.
Hopes not high.
*caresses his "In My Memory" copy*

Looking forward to this one.
Nr 10 and 11 shouldn't be included in the album.
We'll see what it will be!

This can only become a surprisingly good album, wouldnt expect anything else than shit, just like the 2 released tracks on it.
not too keen on what tiesto has been doing last year, ... hopefully this will be something too look forward too. until that hasn't been proved i'll stay all mighty sceptical
He's produced quality in the past, so I'll give him the benefit of doubt. I'll check it out, but I'm not expecting anything decent especially considering all the shit he's been putting out for the last few years.
I'll probably check it out, as In My Memory was one of the albums that got me addicted to dance music in the first place. But I'm not expecting another IMM - but a poppy/commercial approach to dance.

Nr 10 and 12 aren't my favourites either but I think he just added them so the more mainstream crowd buys the album too.
I mean Just be also had Traffic and Love Comes Again but still there were some nice tunes on it like Walking on Clouds and Tear In The Open for example.
I expect there will be atleast 2 good tunes on it and maybe some more decent ones but that's just me, maybe I'm being too nave
.
Exactly.. its a mixed bag for everyone
He has to sell it to both fans who want to hear his intimate & cool sound, but also the fucking monkeys who love Just Be.
