I love my country because ?

So the other thread made me wonder, what makes people proud of their country ? I'd like to hear about good things in your country

I will start with my home country first. India.

Cultural Diversity (food, literature, music, art all inclusive)
Spirituality
Customs and traditions
History, going back to thousands of years
Largely peaceful nation
One of the fastest developing economy
Limited government interference in people's life.

Now, USA

Value of independence
High quality of life associated with a developed nation
Education System
Medical Facilities
Science and Technology
Mature democracy (let's not get into the details )
Beautiful Country with rich geographic diversity

nobody got anything to say ?

Relatively easy to setup a business.

easy to scam the government.

i have the freedom to volunteer my service to it.

definitely the freedom to have an education and live the "dream". it's pretty much possible to do anything in my country and i don't take it for granted.

Free health care.

Health Care is not free. Everybody eventually pays up through taxes.

-Healthcare coverage (whether we pay it in taxes or not, I like it this way)
-Freedom
-Equality amongst our people
-A legal system that is more on the honest, less corrupt side of things
-Educational System (there are a lot of little things that could be improved, but we are lucky that we all have the opportunity to go to school... mandatory in fact).

-Amazing landscape

Canada is an amazing country, and I don't think a lot of our citizens realize how lucky we are.

yup yup. been here since december [august, officially, but i was on TDY to biloxi, ms].

other things i love about this country:

landscape - from mountains to valleys, even the flattest parts of iowa are still sometimes amazing looking.

education. it may have cost me $25k in student loans, but the idea of being able to go to college and pay for it [albeit in the long run] by myself.

just overal freedom. i do what i want, when i want. there are consequences to everything, of course, but the idea that i can just get in my car and GO somewhere or DO something, i think, is extraordinary.

+1 to all of that. When I was about 17 my mother and I took a week and a half and drove from Montreal to Vancouver and the scenery, which at times was a little boring, was still amazing.

you were bored driving through the praries... UNTIL YOU SAW THE WORLDS LARGEST TEEPEE!! you must have driven through medicine hat, it's on the number 1... and so is THE WORLDS LARGEST TEEPEE.

i love my country because it is Australia.
