Producers that are likely to change styles

barthezz did it, sander van doorn did it, tiesto's apparently doing it, armin van buuren is going electro (like millions of others)

any other producers out there who for whatever reason, be it their music has become too monotonous, or they re showing gradual signs of completely revamping their style?

this could be framed two ways:
1. who do you think IS changing styles
2. Who do you think SHOULD change styles

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Mar-18-2007 13:54:

Why should people have a "style" in the first place?

Posted by Fresh Prince on Mar-18-2007 14:10:

Armin is going electro? lol
So if he plays 1 electro tune on ASOT that's it, good to know.

None of those are electro, especially Rush Hour which I thought was his new epic trance anthem thing. The other two are housey ones yes, and World Is Watching me has a buzzy synth, but that's all I can credit to them.

fair enough
but he has changed the direction his productions are taking, started with 'who is watching' in my opinion

Electro wtf? Rush Hour is armin's first decent trance track in years.

Point taken. Most of the Shivers album was at a lower BPM than 76, and most of the tracks on there weren't as anthemy or "trancey". He has definitely stopped producing as many trance anthems apart from Rush Hour.

exactly, and thats my question
is that change for the good or bad according to you?
any other producers who are or should do the same?

Evolution is inevitable. It's not usually even a conscious decision but something that just happens over time.

what's wrong with you?
am i debating that in any way?

i'm just asking which producers according to you are in the process of 'evolving', or those who should 'consciously decide' to do so soon.

What the hell do you want me to say? Speculating over something like this is quite pointless. No producer "should" or "should not" do anything. Pretty much all producers are constantly evolving to something different (bar a few, no names mentioned...) because it's only natural.

What exactly are you even trying to achieve with a thread like this? It just doesn't make any sense to me.

anyone who's consciously changed styles against the natural order of nature in your opinion? bart claessen for example?

why do you even participate in such threads then?

Posted by Durrrtysouth on Mar-18-2007 14:38:

Gabriel & Dresden gone full on electro
Markus Schulz going more bangin with a touch of tech-trance
Cosmic Gate went more Techy
Lange going electro-ish

What does that even mean?

Because I want to understand your motives but I'm obviously failing miserably. You not answering my question isn't really helping either.

no matter what i say, you re not going to turn around and say 'aahh.. now i see your point'',
so
if i tell you i cant explain my motives behind opening this thread, will you stay out of it?

Why are you making ridiculous assumptions like this?

Surely you had some kind of motive, otherwise you wouldn't even had made the thread. Or am I giving you too much credit?

i had a perfectly proper motive, but i dont think im capable of explaining it to you.

Okay, so I did give you far too much credit.

Good day to you.

I guess that happens when you edit the post in the same minute you originally made it. Theres no need for the 'last edited by *insert user* at *insert time*' then, cause the time would be identical.
