Day Watch (Dnevnoy Dozor)

Fucking Russian Matrix. Amazing film saw it last year at a friend's house (it was released in Russia and naturally everyone has copies already). Anyway exciting news - it's gonna get released in USA. Just saw that on Comcast news.

Oh I didn't realize that it was the prequel to Night Watch. That was a slick movie. I wouldn't say it's like the Matrix though

I saw night watch last year and thought it was horrible. The concept wasn't that bad but the characters were just poorly written and not fleshed out enough for the audience to even care.

Night Watch, imo, was a really undeveloped story... or more of a setup for Day Watch. This film just blows the cover off the whole thing and fucks you right in your brain. Tremendous film.
