do you consider pornstars to be prostitutes?

IMO yes, both male and female pornstars are really just prostituting themselves since they have sex for money...not that there's anything wrong with that

but what do you guys think? even tho they are involved in creating a product, there is still an exchange of money for sex so i don't think its wrong to think of it as a form of prostitution, except that it is filmed.

there are instances in which a couple will have sex on tape, IMO i wouldn't consider that prostitution, but if its a single male/female having sex with another male/female only for money, then i would consider it so.

If kicking a ball down a field can be acting ( bend it like Beckham ), and dancing on a stage can be acting ( Center stage ) then why can't sex be acting? Just because there happens to be an illegal act that consists of the same motions so to say, doesn't mean you should compare the two to be the same.

Wtf? Yes, they are prostitutes. They are being paid to have sex. IMO, it makes no difference if they are 'acting' or being 'paid to produce a product.'

Whether a porn actor/actress is a prostitute or not depends on your definition of prostitute. I severly doubt that people these days simply regard prostitution as a textbook definition like "sexual acts in exchange for money". It's not that simple.

What about amateur porn? Even if they make money by selling pics and vids, they are making money off letting someone play voyeur and not a sexual act itself. Same thing goes for softcore as its still technically porn. If you follow the definition like wiki's, anyone who slept with their boss for a promotion is a prostitute.
