Is PVD worth seeing in ibiza?

i was planning on going to ibiza this summer from sunday till thursday morning but then saw that PVD was playing in amnesia on thursday. is it worth staying that extra day? i dont know, pvd never seemed to me like an ibiza type guy i dont know why....plus hes been playing some crap tunes lately.

anyway i want to go to 'i love sundays' thats why im arriving on sunday so getting there monday is not an option

His closing sets at amnesia (september ish) have been legendary.

Paul Van Dyk @ Cream Closing Party 2004

My favorite set of all time

pvd is worth seeing even in my basement.

I saw him last summer @ Cream with Ferry..tbh I was on the terrace the entire night watching The Shapeshifters instead...he was good...but I just couldn't take the heat and the crowd in the main room of Amnesia.

He gets more respect than Tiesto (or Armin to a certain extent) that's for sure....although his recent productions and him playing Filo & Peri's "The Anthem" have gotten him bashed (but some people don't think he is being serious playing that song).

i can't enjoy pvd when i'm rolling, but sober he's okay

even though i'm not a huge trancer...i'd probably still stay. i mean you're already there...and it's the closing night of amnesia...shoud be a good time.

ask pvdobsession, but i dunno about his word these days. He now sports sven vath avatar, and a richie hawtin signature banner. One thing i can tell you is, that he is a hardcore ibiza dude. He seems to be the go to guy.. hes seems like a cool dude.

Thumbs up

Go for sure, if it's a closing party set, blow all the cash you've got.

Nah it's just simple commercialization, artist's trying to go in a more pop direction. Filo & Peri's older stuff was so good (though they had a tendency to use the same old basslines, kickdrums etc, but other producers/remixers do the same). Their new stuff...ick...

Is PVD worth seeing? No.

He's as shitty on Ibiza as anywhere else. You hear the same crap in his Ibiza sets as in all the other sets.
He was great 3 or 4 years ago.

All depends, I went when he was on with Tiesto around June time, Which is pretty much off peak... and the place was heaving, easily a sell out, with everyone cramming into the main room. I couldnt relax all night, it was far to rammed.

No you don't you fucking flid, he changes his playlist immensely whilst in Ibiza. For better or for worse is up to the listener, but don't talk rubbish when it's so obvious you're chatting out of your arse.

To the original poster - I find his Ibiza sets really 'fun.' I am looking forward to seeing him out there this year.

2 years ago when i was in the amnesia PVD dropped beachball (G&D remix) at 7 in the morning. Hearing the vocal: Let's go to the beach on that immense Funktion1 system was and then the bassline in the break.

his sets at cream ibiza are completely different from stuff he plays in the uk and ireland or maybe elsewhree in the world. last year his 4 hour set rocked i didnt hear one bad tune even if he whores his own productions.

When I've seen him in 2005 in Ibiza he was as crappy as in Berlin before or in Munich afterwards

He is a blow out everytime I see him at the Ultra festival in Miami, I say go for it.

i would love to go, DO IT!!!

Some of my best Ibiza memories are of PVD in Amnesia... but that was 2002. The club is immense though, i'm 90% certain you'll have a blinding night. Ice Cannon!!
