Dj Jurgeon, Marco V, DJ Morgan and others... In vancouver??.( well.. near vancouver)
That is a crazy line up for Trance-Gate on 11th of May. It seems its too good to be true! Marco is one of my fav's DJs. I m having thoughts that the event is a fake. HEY, i could be tottally wrong here.
The thing is.. why would the producers make the party at the Riverside?? I've been to that place once, and it isnt big at all. SOmebody told me that place holds around 1200 people max. Tickets being sold for way less than 50$, how are the producers supposed to break even with such a line up
Anywayz.. if those people are actually comeing.. i ll be getting the tix right now, but untill i hear some positive thoughts about that party.. Twisted 2002 on april 20th, it is!
cheerz
psur :-)
I am not a fan of Riverside but I can say that Trancegate party will kick ass over over Twisted 2002. Trancegate has a crazy line-up? Well Marco V is sweet, Jurgen is pretty good. But it takes more than 2 DJs to make it a crazy line-up. I will tell you how they will break even. They cheaped out on the venue, they have +90% local DJs and half I have never heard of and I bet the sound and lights will be average.
You have a hard on for this Twisted party which tells me that you either are friends with Twisted or you don't know shit about what a good party actually is.
If I had to chose between parties I would definatly pick Trancegate because Marco and Jurgen are better than the whole Twisted line-up put together.
Just my 2 cents
marco is definately big and i'd love to see him spin
but jurgen, i dunno, cheese is all comes to mind
all others, never heard of them
personally, i decided not to go, despite the fact that marco will be there, i can always listen to any of his livesets, almost any
i wouldnt wanna waste $50 just to see him
^^ my 2 cents ![]()
What venues do you guys like in vancouver?
Why would they have it at riverside? well they dont have many options, thats one of the only venues that can get legal permits for an all night party.
Legal Venues i can name off the top of my head that are STILL in use and can go all night:
PNE
Plaza of nations
Riverside
The Palace(across the street from riverside)
Plaza costs 50g's to rent, the PNE costs more.....its all about the bling bling, there is no way there going to fill the plaza or PNE on Marco V alone so they dont have much of a choice
Both Jurgen and Marco V have "Trance Gate" listed on there websites for upcoming performances. Ill be there for sure....we havnt been getting much GOOD talent....would be crazy to miss him. Im sure They will be making cash off this party, expensive tickets and they will sell out for sure.
Oh ya and Trancegate has more headliners then the average party....in the mainroom there are only 3 locals...and GrooveRobber kicks ass. You got to figure that the party is going to start a 9 so of course they need some filler Dj's to get things warmed up. The second room is all locals but its the breaks room.....I doubt many of you will be in the breaks room with whats going on in the main.
I dont know why but i really expect good things from this party....its that good party vibe you get sometimes.

man there are only 3 locals here, what do you expect them to do? There not going to waste the money putting a headliner on at 9pm and there not going to put one on as the last DJ up usually 6-8 am. There are 2 guys from Germany doing a tag team, i wouldnt really consider them local. This riverside party has more headliners then most.
man i dont think you realize the magnitude of a plaza or PNE production, its pretty much impossible to throw your first party at a venue like that without having a name for yourself. I mean come on who the fuck are "ShyBrothers productions" anyway? i dont know nor does anyone in Vancouver. Plus whos to say they would even be able to get a permit for one of the big venues the plaza just opend up again, the city is being pretty tight assed with permits.
Marco V may have a name in The UK and toronto but not here, despite how much our TA's love him, his name dosnt mean shit here.
well let me see...
Well jesten and special_k my dear pimps
enough of unnecesary debating
as for the rest of you do as you please, but I know that whenever I would see some good trance DJ coming from europe I would go to see him no matter where was he playing at and who was bringing him
cause I know I dont have money to go to europe to see him

whats done is done, party is coming up so lets make most out of it...
its not the venue that counts you know that, but the people and atmosphere that matters
as for lights and sound just wait and see, it might be better than you think...
the fact that nobody knows about shybro shouldnt stop anybody from comming when international talent is brought cause as we know its realy rare that we get some good europe quality trance DJ's here,
so we should seize the oportunity when it arrives even if it was my grandmother who was making a party
peace to all of you trance lovers
and I'll see you soon
ciao

just wondering, is this sold out
Morphalo man debating is fun.....i dont think any of us have any bad feelings toward eachother.....just a nice friendly debate
Ya MixMag was probably the best party i have ever been to. The thing with Pure is that mixmag wasnt there first party, they built a name for themselves with there first party "Tranceparent". Also i know for a fact they they have a VERY wealthy guy funding there partys, a luxory most promoters dont have. I wouldnt be suprised
Anyway a friend of mine was talking to the guys from ShyBrothers (trance gate promoters) and they said there next party is going to go off huge....they just need to build a name for themselves. Honstly i expect pretty good things from these guys, just the fact that there headliners have the party listed in there coming performances on ther webpages is a step ahead of most new promotors.
My comment about Marco V was pretty harsh....i was going to edit it out but i didnt really have time. Ok from personal experience over the years i have come to the conclusion that the average "Raver" dosnt know shit about the music they listen to, of course there are exceptions. Lets face it %75 of the people thay buy tickets for partys are the little ravers. I remember when i went to twisted 2001 to see John'00'Fleming I didnt meet a single person that entire party that knew who he was, sam goes for MixMag and Slinky and there headliners. Pretty much what i was getting at is that Marco V wouldnt even come close to filling the plaza....not by a long shot. i Think that after this performance people will be more inclined to look into his productions and that will build a name for him on the west coast.
Sorry for the long post
Patt its not sold out but i would suggest getting a ticket soon as they get pretty expensive

whooo hooo !
ya friendly debating is ok
but debate is useful when one can make a change with it
which is not the case now
you peeps debating wont change the venue

and yes it is awesome to have people who understand the same music
and want to improve the shity scene in this city
we need more trance damn it !!!
but in any case we are happy trance loving family
so lets hold eachoders hands and sing kumba ya
see you soon at trancegate
peace
I am only saying this to piss off Morph
But other than Marco V, who are the other trance DJs? The party is called Trancegate but main stage is called the HOUSE room on the flyer. I think you guys are throwing around the trance name to much. I don't even consier this a trance party. As Jerry Seinfeld would say, 'Whats the deal with this party? It's called trancegate but there is no trance room. So why is it called trancegate'. Well you get the point.
I am not trying to be a dick head but seriously, why is this party called trancegate anyway.
Peace
If any of you guys like uk hard house, then DJ Morgan is the shit
good hard house dj
well, it could be a different dj morgan then i'm thinking of hehe
Run down of the Main room DJ's:
The main room is mixed. The two main headliners are Marco V, and DJ Jurgen...i dont need to tell anyone here that they both are both VEYR accomplished trance DJ's/Producers, both from Holland. Jurgen is really good, i saw him last Imix and he played really well....far cry from his Alice DeeJay days. DJ Morgan is a Nu-Nrg god.....Seen him a couple times, it will be a really good set, im pretty sure hes from San Fran. Next up we have Benjamin Shir .VS. Mike Groove, there both from Germany and im pretty sure they spin trance, ill try and find out more info about them for you guys. Now were into the Locals, GrooveRobber is probably one of the best DJ's in vancouver, he will proabbyl spin some funky house on the harder side, I have seen him so many times and he always gets the crowd going....really cool guy to. Oh ya GrooveRobber has release one of his productions on Tinrib records in the UK. Next is Gerald....im not a fan at all, he will spin really cheesy Hard house....this shit with a really flat bass line....seen him tons of times as well, i cant believe he gets booked as much as he does, hope hes on first
. Finally is DJ Organic, hes one of the promoters....think he spins trance by the looks of the headliners he has booked.
ShyBrothers has been throwing partys in germany for a while and they just moved to vancouver, I sort of think they are hooked up with a lot of these dj's as there all from the same area.
Ok so there are some trance DJs but now explain the fact that they have a house room and a breaks room. If more than half the DJs on the 'main stage' were trance would they not call it something else but the house room. So still I don't think there will be that much trance going on.
Please someone give me an answer to this question so I can stop bitching! This oxymoron is driving me crazy. TRANCEgate-main stage=HOUSE room.aaaaaarrrrrrggggg Did someone just fuck up or what?
Man its just the name of the room, its not that big of a deal. the headliners are trance, i think thats all that really matters
What is the big deal Jesten??? Let it go!
If they're gonna have a party with Trance, House and Breakz, they gotta put that info somewhere!!!
As to all the comments about Shybros, I'm really glad there is a new production who is actually trying to bring what Vancouver deserves!
So, I'm not only gonna go to see Marco V., but also to support SBP hoping that they will have more parties like this one!
if I wasn't out of town I'd go to this show without thinking. Look at the quality of all of the Twisted shows in the past year? Fuck, they pretty much bring in the cheapest out of town talent they can find. Do you think it's likely that they'd ever book someone like Marco V? Not likely, because it doesn't seem like they're particularly interested in anything other than money. I may be acting harsh, but from a complete outsider's perspective this is the way it appears to me.
K brings up some good points, most people here have no clue about out of town DJs. When Pulser came to the Plaza he delivered one of the best trance sets that this city has ever seen, all brand spanking new, awesome tunes, flawlessly mixed. Sad fact of the matter was that I was probably one of 5 people in the entire Plaza of Nations that could distinguish this between any other crap that local_Twisted_headliner00 throws down.

man Jurgen is trance, ive seen him live already, full on trance set. He will be spinning trance here, if he dosnt you guys can chew me out after the party.
The thing with that plaza is that there not allowed to have anything more then thay had at wett, sound sydtem wise. Part of the reason the plaza shut down was because the resident in the sourrounding areas petitioned against the noise. the only reason the plaza is open now is because they have made agreement about the sound system, It was a little louder at Imix because they draped sound absorbing material along the windows......other then that its never going to be much louder then that.
I love trance, but i sure as hell dont want to listen to 12 hours straight of it. need some sort of variety
Oh ya and no offence to Miss Ibiza but i find it pretty fucking weird that on all the Vancouver message boards new accounts appear to give mad props to this party and they never post again. If your a real account then its all good. But if your a troll account thats just trying hype the party.....well were not fucking idiots, thats the kind off bullshit that turns people agains promotion companys.....ive seen it before and im sure I will see it again.
On F&K like 5 new accounts showed up out of the blue to hype trance gate....fishy if you ask me
