Is this price too good to be true?

I was surfing ebay and I came upon this while I was looking at cars.

93 Mazda RX-7, 560 HP, 76k miles

$5,600 buyout...

Really I'd expect that car with the mods to go for atleast 15k.

This car can be worth over $15K-20K, stock (no mods) in great condition.

With the mods it has, it can sell for over $45K.

what part of "reserve not met" don't you understand? Let me translate "HIGHLY MODIFIED" = raced and beat the fuck out of. Omg the car is only 14 years old!

Posted by SuspicionVandit on May-03-2007 03:52:

JDM rear whale tail spoiler = $10000
JDM front turn signals = $3000
JDM rear taillights = $8000

his asking price = ~$5000 shennanigans

( :/ "look at this, it's JDM!!!!!" shit is ridiculously expensive and gay

but then again, RX-7s pwn me, and the ebay site explicitly states all the needed information to prevent fraud.

but then again, he doesn't have any ebay history

but then again, it's an RX-7, and they pwn me.

but then again, he's using a fraud central e-mail service (yahoo) and identity theft is rampant in the US

but then again, it's an RX-7, and they pwn me.

but then again, if it is fraud, you're bound to get fucked cus ebay+paypal usually fuck innocent people

but then again, it's an RX-8, and they pwn me.

buy it

edit

These cars their value very well - same as the '93-'98 Twin-turbo Supras.

Both of these cars were around $50K, brand new.

That car looks like shit. Its possible that's the reason its not selling for anything more.

I agree with Supra's. Disagree with placing RX-7 in that category

Speaking of which, I'm in the market for a car... What's a used, cheap car that shouldn't fall apart too quickly?

The FD-platform RX7s were limited production - only 13,879 were sold worldwide, between '93-'95.

Full molded C-Wings N1 body kit

Expensive as hell to replace/repair when you crack it... and you will...

All new bearings no more than 3,000 miles ago

In other words, this engine has been blown up and rebuilt around the 71k miles mark!

ACT Stage four clutch, highest power pressure plate but still have a street disk
M2 light weight flywheel and new counter balance

Extreme pain to drive around town unless you have a bionic left leg

Blitz 1600cc secondaries(made by nippon denso)

Uses so much fuel it's scary, also quite pointless as he's not upgraded the fuel pump.

And all that together with no aftermarket engine management, fairly pointless
No dyno sheet
No service history

It's at best a 1/2 or 3/4 finished build and being a rotary, the nature of the engine and how it works just means you end up putting oil in it all the time, they burn a LOT of fuel and have the torque of a lawnmower at under 2000rpm, which makes them annoying to drive.

danggggg i didn't know it was that limited!

i've always attributed the prices for RX-7s to sellers wanting to make extra $ off drifting wanks

now i have a better perspective (maybe)
