What Will You Name Your Kid ?

thinking about this yesterday (dont really know why)

what will you name your first kid?
if you already have a kid, then what would you name your next (if you re not planning to have a next, then well.... piss off)

boy: Ali
I'm actually Hindu, but i dont believe in god, or the whole religion bullshit, which is why the hindu-muslim communalism and the kashmir issues really hit me hard. ali for me is a really beautiful name, and happens to be the name of one of my best friends.

girl: Tamanna
means hope.

wasn't exactly bashing religion, just saying i dont believe in it. im not sure i could explain it to you, but its complicated when a Hindu wants to name his son Ali.

My last name is Vernikov. I think Veronika Vernikova (since I'm Russian, the -a is added at the end of my last name for females) is a very pretty name.

As for the boy, it was my grandfather's name (and my name) so I want to continue using it.

technically, where i come from, it isnt allowed to keep your kids name the same as ANYONE in the family. i despise that rule, and if i didn't want Ali so bad, i would definitely keep it Jai (meaning victory)

Have a short second name so needs to be quite long or sounds weird, but like names that can be shortened when in a less formal setting too. Also would give the middle name of Charles for a boy (after granddad) and Margret (after grandmother).

Boy: Matthew (Matt) or Sebastian (Seb)
Girl: Katie or Heather

Those are both cool names, though.

As for me, the Jewish heritage frowns upon NOT naming your kids after dead relatives.

I'm not so sure I've had anyone in my family named Victoria. I may be wrong, though...
