Your First?
Name the first Album, song or set you ever listened to that hooked you into EDM. Mine was (Im hear some dumbshit for saying this) BBB and Richard "Humpty"* Vission the house connection, Vol. 2
*The Humpty has since been removed and now its just Richard Vission.
Felix da Housecat - Live @ Mayday, 2002
Hybrid - Wide Angle
shortly followed by Sasha's Global Underground 009: San Francisco
Sasha - Global Underground GU:013 Ibiza
Sasha - Global Underground - GU:009 San Francisco
Dave Seaman - Global Underground GU:012 Buenos Aires
I'd been listening for a long time, but I think the one that "hooked" me on a permanent level was:
BT - Ima
I remember a friend told me just gave me some random trance mp3 and named some Oakenfold guy. I still remember searching for "trance" on Napster and getting all kinds of random songs. First set i found was Oakenfold - Voyage into Trance and Tranceport. Those were when he wasn't that bad. I ended up going to see him live in like 01 or 02 when he came to Dallas. Way past those days though.

Hackers soundtrack
I can't remember which one of these came first, so I listed both
Nitzer Ebb-Showtime
Front 242-Front by Front
Messiah-Thunderdome was the first hard trance album I ever had
I remember a friend taking me to see Oakenfold.
I got there, and thought it was just a club thing, but saw so many fans and followers, so I was wondering what I was out of the loop on it.
I remember standing around a bunch of people and saying, "Who's this Oaky guy again? What's his name?" And I believe the record skipped, music stopped and everyone stared at me.
Nah, but everyone around me was freakin' out that I never heard of him. So much for growing up in the small town country.
The next day I was downloading every edm song I could find.
honestly, it was probably smart-e's back in the day. i don't even know what happened t them, but i still have that cd.
plastic compilation 1 sealed the deal.

Don't tell anyone, but I think Oakenfold's Tranceport is the one that did it to me.
oh yea....
snap - rhythm is a dancer
and
real life - send me an angel
were two others
Gus Gus - Purple (Sasha vs The Light)
There was on vid that i ended up finding of Johan Gielen at Trance Energy that made me want to make it a life goal to make it to TE and maybe even Sensation White (after I found out more about the big concerts). The way he pumped up the crowd was pretty cool and the weird euro girls intrigued me.
