Jeninfer Rene Interview

First question, how do you pronounce Rene?

quote:
"re - nae"

as in Allo Allo

quote:

Along those lines, what is your involvement with message-boards/forums such as trance.nu?

Jennifer Rene says:

I used to use tranceaddict.com a lot, but, and I know Im not the first to say this; there is a lot of negativity that comes with these message boards. Its like, some people are just sitting there, ready to pounce on anybody who posts something they disagree to, or to any artist that releases a track or a compilation. Its one thing to post ones opinion, but its another to attack a person or an artist or their work, but there is a lot of good to the message boards too. I do use them, I dont post as much as I used to, but I read alot.

hear that, naughty boys

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jun-02-2007 17:09:

Yeah, that's right about where I stopped reading. Good to see t.nu are keeping the standards high.

Posted by SuspicionVandit on Jun-02-2007 17:15:

people think it's pronounced REEN?

quote:

What is the future for Jennifer Rene?
Jennifer Rene says:
Always singing and writing. Jos and I have talked about doing an album together.

hell yeah! Amnesia owns ur mother

+1 to Amensia + Rene

Posted by Evol` on Jun-02-2007 18:25:

Its more like Jonas + Rene ...

Trance.nu says:

How did you hook up with Jose Amnesia?

Jennifer Rene says:

Through a mutual friend "Arturo Bonetti", we met through the internet. He had been friends with Jos Amnesia for a long time. Arturo knew I wanted to sing for this genre and he said "send me your vocals I know a producer who could use them." and thats exactly how it happened,

What, the truth hurt? Not saying you are one of the peeps she speaks of...I do not know. But compared to four+ years ago, the negativity here is absolutely absurd. Negativity is fine, IMO, when it's constructive. For the most part, it's not. There are some here who do lay things out when they criticize, so it's not everyone. But the ones who don't far overweigh and overshadow those who do.

And she is telling the truth about not being the one who says that about TA. I remember when some bigger DJs would totally glow if you mentioned you posted on TA to them....then in about late 2004/early 2005 that went away and they just had this negative reaction.

Still love this place though. Best community around. But do wish everyone was more supportive and did what they could to improve things. But that's just me.

The problem is, when "we" (meaning people she probably means) do post something constructive, those starry eyed people can't even ackknowledge that we have a good point & often just don't get it. After a while it seems pointless writing huge replies to help them learn something when some of them personally attack etc. It's just how the internet & world in general has gone nowadays though. Add to that the many people who are trendhopping and it just becomes tiresome, but at the same time, we still want to be in this place so I guess some resort to witty retorts.

Then there's the pure shit stuff, too many people spamming their radio show, new label, release or whatever, these people give nothing to ta and expect to be able to take. Bleh

Last I remember he was sacked as a moderator after his head grew too large for his body to physically cope with. And he was a big guy anyway so that was some task. Take a big ego, the fact he fucked over some people I respect lots & a close friend of mine, and the fact he was a bit of a jerk to many, including claiming to girls to own ta instead of swamper (we all laughed hard at that ) He then seemed to produce with jose amnesia iirc and has suddenly become a hero for many people even though those who truly know what he's capable of know to stay clear.

She's a nice girl

I always enjoy her vocals

her voice is amazing and much of her collaborations are SICKKK.
But I've heard her own production, Invincible, and I thought it was horrible. But she's blooming and I eagerly await anything she puts out

lol.

Jennifer Rene is just Jennifer Rene. She does what she does (play and produce poppy/trance EDM and sing what I think are pretty solid vocals, though certainly not on tunes I care all that much for), and that's probably all she'll ever do.

Lots of people will think it sucks because it's mainstream, just like everything thrown into pop/mainstream category, and for the same reason, tons more will dig it.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

And the beat goes on.

I wouldn't have expected her speak highly of internet forums.

When you're famous enough to do an interview you have to stop posting on internet forums and complain about the negativity etc, there is no other way, it's inevitable.

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Jun-03-2007 02:14:

Let's not beat around the bush here, she is fucking shit. Your average grain of sand in a very large desert. DaveT must obviously have some connection with her though, otherwise he wouldn't be piping up with such inane and pathetic drivel. If I recall Jennifer was pretty fit - Obviously he's trying to get his willy wet.

And I don't care what anyone says, Arturo was sound as fuck.

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Jun-03-2007 02:18:

Oh yea, and times must be pretty low if you're doing an interview for trance dot fucking nu.

I agree with this, but it's not what she is trying to get at in the interview. Think about how many threads there have been of compilations that haven't been released, with tracks that no one has heard and people already have constructive arguments about how bad it is.

What truth?

I said I stopped reading after the first question and you come back with that. What the hell?

no i haven't. every track i've heard from jose amnesia has been crap though, so it's no wonder i haven't heard of her if all she's done is sing for some jose amnesia tracks.
