So i decided last minute to party like a true rock star and drive in to San Antonio for Ferry tomorrow and drive back home sometime in the very early AM to go to work - OUCH! But i figure its worth it. The last time Ferry Corsten came, i made it half way before breaking down on the side of the road. I was super pissed knowing I was missing an awesome show while I was riding in the tow truck. I hope there is a good turn out. I hate when Texas clubs finally get a good big name and no one shows up. Really drives me nuts people don't come out to support it. I guess more people rather listen to that reggae-tone garbage....

I'll be back for Tiesto as well, even though his latest CD blows. Last years event at Cowboys was really awesome, however I think having the event on a Monday this year will really bring the show down. Not as many people will show up. I wish promoters would keep that in consideration. People like me who have to drive to go see anyone decent can't take off work all the time because they dont want to have the show on a weekend.

Promoters (some of em anyway) take in consideration what they are able to afford for an event. When you book a big name on the weekend or a special occasion like New Years Eve, their rates go through the roof, like 2-3 times as much.

All I am saying is that there is alot more promoters have to keep in consideration rather than just what day to hold the event on.

Yeah your right, I guess I never really thought about it that way before. Anyways, I'm just glad that the promoters are bringing good music to Texas. I just hate that I'm so damn far from the cities to enjoy the shows on a more regular basis. I should be moving to Dallas soon and I will be happy as a clam Thanks Matthias for opening my eyes to a new point of view!

The two DJs before Corsten (not counting the dude spinning during the fashion show) were epicly bad. I can't believe the stuff they were playing.

Corsten was pretty average as expected. He had a few transitions that were just horrendous.

The only thing that saved the night was the body painting I guess.

Shit event. Glad I had alcohol in my system and got to see some old mates. Ferry was dissapointing, especially compared to the last time I saw him at Sky when he absolutely tore the place apart. The scene in SA is just vastly different from Austin, and personally I think the atmosphere had a lot to do with Ferry's subpar performance. Fuck I hate SA julios.

I'd object to such a broad-spectrum accusation. One of the first shows I went to when I got back from Iraq the first time was Crystal Method at Antro, and it was a blast. Not every San Antonio event deserves to folded into the auto-suck category, especially since you reduced it to secondhand supposition by admitting you've never personally been to one.

Shame about sub-par Ferry, though. Packer's call on his gig at Sky is spot-on; had he possessed that level of energy in SA, might have been a different review altogether.
