when i was at the car show, the velodrome seemed like it would be a cool venue..although the skylights would let the sun shine in the morning..making it feel like sensation in amsterdam arena
nothing else matters after the molson center, #1 all the way
Duh?!?!
Anyone who doesn't put Molson Centre #1 is CRAZY

man you'd think 514 would of picked up maurice richard arena instead of the molson center, seeing as it probably would cost them a whole lot less.
say, why aren't they using CEPSUM anymore? that actually has a bigger capacity than any other hockey rink.

my guess is because its not safe...when they packed 10000+ in there for swirl 2000..they had 2 bathrooms
MAURICE RICHARD ARENA
514 productions may see the day at the Maurice Richard Arena soon!.
(We are in contact concerning this)
The Cepsum...Only one major all night dance event per year allowed!
There's alot of politics involved around that venue.

Safety, space, comfort, easyness = Molson center
no doubt which venue owns above all in my opinion. Olympic stadium wasn't bad when they had 100's of porto potties lined up, but gets a bit too warm in there it would be better if they could just open the garge door and have extra security to keep people away. I liked Jarry for Cream, needed some more porto potties or better bathroom availibilty, but other then that I loved the wide open space, was great to see so many people dancing it up, and you could always just pop outside for some fresh air. Cepsum, well I only went there once, and that was by far enough for me, I said never again after that. Swirl 2000....I don't think I need to say anything else, awfull, dispicable, bad bad 514... they should have gotten huge fines or arrested for doing that to people. Sardined can, lack of bathrooms, just totally pourly ran........ how the hell did I manage to have such a great time, and it be a party that I never ran out of dance space....I'll never know
Re: MAURICE RICHARD ARENA
Oh right, can u elaborate on that law by any chance.. I'm just curious.. I remember hearing about that when a party at the skate park on berri got busted..
and delstar, I definatly remember Swirl 2000, it was a MAJOR bitch, after Max Graham's set we went outside to chill, and waiting about 30-45min in line before we could get back in (for BBB).. by that time it was about 7am and it still wasn't moving. so we said fuck it and left. I didn't enjoy myself at that party, especially because PvD didn't show up.. I was majorly pissed because 2 years ago he was by far my favorite DJ, I rememeber being surprised by people who didn't give a shit that he didn't show up, I didn't believe it.

syl,
swirl 2000 was my first big 514 party...the only other rave i ever attended was snowball 2000 on the millenium and that was nothing compared toswirl 2000...after looking back on 2 years of 514 parties..i think that was one of the craziest ones..i stayed til 11:30 am and i dont remember being tired at all. I had a slight idea who van dyk was and i knew he would be the best dj..myself and my friend were pissed to learn that he wasnt gonna be there but surprised to see oakenfold flyers everywhere...OASIS - Oakenfold w/ special guest tiesto in small font...hahaha how times have changed
funny thing is 12000 peeps at swirl didnt care about pvd as sylphin said...and there was plenty of place to move around at oasis to see oakenfold's "special guest"
i;d love to see what would happen if oakies' "special guest" would play at another molson centre party...my guess is tons of trendies from ilume and bubbles wanting to TIEESTOE

That would have just brought me to a whole new level that night if I knew Tiesto was coming, I was happy just knowing that Oakenfold was. They announced Tiesto about a month later when they had the webpage up for the party. I hyped everyone up for Tiesto that night, and everyone was like, yeah he's ok, but we're going to see Oakie
hehehe, well I can defintely say I was right on that one
FAV 5 VENUES
Cepsum is a spectacular venue when it comes to dance partys (only when the capacity is obeyed)
The taz...formally situated on Berri (downtown Montreal) had a rule that stated; only 3 major events per year.
A great legislation indeed! It provides security to the venues reputation.
-Venue is not over used
-Allows enough time to "well" organize events
ect.
(this regulation is only dedicated to non-concerts halls)
ie..Cepsum, Tazmahal, Centre Sportif Claude Robillard (which will be used very soon),Le musse du fort sur ile Saint Helene...ect..ect
The Arena Maurice Richard has been contracted under Media Concerts. This was done in order to keep the place from being
"burn' t "
Only 3 Major events will be held every year at the Arena.
1-AUDIOWAVE
2-JUNE 29TH
3-T.B.A

Man I just checked out the Cream website.. Was there really 75000 people there last year? EEK! Never thought I would see that at a music festival anywhere in Canada, dance or otherwise, and really without any of your usual big name headliners. (dont get me wrong there were some biggies, but really nonone you would expect to attract 75000 people)
You have to remember that's not one event, that's over a 2 week period, but even then 75,000 sounds a little high to me, maybe they're just counting every person walking on st.laurent as an attende
mm swirl 99 was my first big 514 party, misstress barbara played an unbelivable set. so heh, swirl 2002 will be my 4th swirl =)
and oasis 2000 was *by far* the best party I've ever been to. 1st (or 2nd?) time they used Molson Center... I dont see how that can EVER be topped.... Promotors.. PROVE ME wrong.

Centre Sportif Claude Robillard
What do you think about the Centre Claude Robillard as a venue?
oasis 2000
from 11-7 we heard max graham, oakie and tiesto
best party of all time...514 definitely needs some recognition for that party!
