This looks damn nice man, grabbing this now

Edit: What format is this in? The megaupload links start up a DL, but it's not mp3?

It is an mp3, I don't know how the file emitted that. When I changed its name to
put the correct file extention at the end and it works fine. But I thought I should Re uploaded it anyway. Sorry about that.
Heres the new links:

Tell me about it. I'm always on the lookout for melodic breaks tunes. A good one is like gold dust.

enjoyed the mix... originally intended only to listen to the breaks portion, but found myself having gone through the whole thing .

Tried to buy some of these tracks, like the jakatta one was real interesting but no download shops are carrying this... i assume you must have used mostly vinyl then?

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jun-18-2007 09:21:

The first half was quite interesting, very well thought and interesting progression, but when things turned to 4/4 I seemed to lost interest quite a bit. It seemed to go a bit random from there and those 2 completely unnecessary remixes (Halcyon, SMBU) really annoyed me (especially when Halcyon seemed to be out of key when you mixed it in).

Top marks for the first half though

I am delighted you enjoyed the mix.
There is a download shop with the Jakatta song. Check your PMs

I am really glad you enjoyed the first part. I admit I would have been happest keeping the whole mix in the same vein. But as you said yourself there is not that much melodic breaks around...

In responce to your other comments:
The original SMBU was a lot more about attitude and yes, the better version. In defence of Burak Yeters remix, I think he has done a better job than anybody else who has attempted to remix SMBU, and he is in good compony (Seb Fontaine & Slacker to name but 2). I like the way he interweaves the ethnic vocals (my favourite part of the original) with some of his own lush sounding pads and the way the whole tune just seems to build and build.

The original Halcyon is perhaps the most perfectly crafted and captively beautiful electronic track produced, a song I will never fall out of love with. With regards to Dom Kanes version (1), it's more of a reprise than anything else, Although It is never going to win a prize for originality. I think it is worthy of some attention.

Halcyon was a key up from New Light. The mix wasn't made easy by New Lights melody continueing for four more beats after the start of the new 8 bar section. I wanted to quietly tease some of the detail of halcyon ahead of time then get a full modulation as new lights outro began. I'll be honest and say its not my favourite mix here,

Cheers for taking the time to listen to my mix in its entirety and for giving me honest feedback,

Nice one Sanchez

Remember being delighted when I first heard Sasha's remix of The Zookeepers boy! Sounds similar to what he was doing on Involver (Definately a good thing!)
