Anyone also like Hard House ?
1999 was the year of trance..and from 2000 Hard House took the dance scene by storm. Was just wondering if some of you also like Hard House, and which tunes particular.
I might get crucified for this, but I'm actaully a Hard House DJ. But lately I've been playing such a variety and now demand for me is hi. Got 3 residencies and I keep playing as a guest DJ quite a lot. What I do is I start with some more commercial Trance and then go on to Hard Trance..Then I bang the Hard House for my peak time..then I go back to Hard Trance and then end my set with Uplifting Trance.
It's really great to rock different crowds at the same club in one night...I love it.
I like Hard House, but not as much as Hard Trance, and I don't know much about it.
If you can recommend any recent tunes I'd appreciate it.
By the way, if you're into hard house is there any chance you can help me ID the tracks in Anne Savage's set from the Dome, London, New Years Eve?
Download it here on AG:

It's one of the best sets I've ever heard, you will enjoy it!

Although heres some good ones to get, these ones have a trancey edge some more than others.
Organ Donors - In Power (any mix hard or the trance one)
Phil Reynolds & Steve Blake - Phaze 2
Grant Thomson & Steve Ryan - Total Supremacy
Heres a few goodies alot more around just these are some that come to mind, want more gimme a yell
I'll see what I can do about that Id'ing..I'm on a dail-up connection, so it will take some time
Anyway you can have a listen at my Hard House tracks at www.mp3.com/dj_rebirth .Two of the tunes are Tidy Trac projects.
Some other good Hard house tracks of late :
12inch Thumpers - What do you think ?
12inch Thumprs - To The Bone
Dan Madams - Bad Bass Feeling
Fat Bastard & Dr. Evil - Dominator
Stimulant DJ's - Hoover Time

Lisa Lashes - Looking Good
Anyway, for the latest you can just give me your e-mail address. My charts get sent to everyone each week who requested for it. That will always have the latest and greatest Hard House
yeah i am also into hard house, it gets boring wen ya here in on mp3 at ya house but @ a club it roks, or on a live set, it seeems 2 b betta. her r some of the track i seem 2 like
bk - bad ass (3am at convergance remix)
dj misjah & dj tim - accses
signum - wat ya got 4 me (stimulent dj's remix)
jfk - whiplash (bad habbit boys remix)
nick sentience & bk - flash
& ne thing by nick sentience & bk
I like some of the older stuff like:
Andy Farley - The Killer
Lisa Lashes - Unbelievable
Fergie and BK - House of Pain
Dyewitness - What Would You Like to Hear Again?
But I'm not really a fan of any of the later tracks, getting a bit monotonous rather than staying bouncy.
I have gone thru stages of linking hard house. But gennerally i find the hollow beat stuff really cheesy...reminds me of vengaboys up and down....eeuch. But i do like the pulsing kind of hard house. mauro picotto plays this sometimes, but it might be too similar to tech-trance to be classiied as hard house.
Yeah Mauro Picotto can't really be categorised as Hard House..eventhough he's on Nukleaz..I would say it's Tech-trance..
The problem with Hard House these days is that it has gone from being bouncy and pulsing to just one beat throughout with some bongos here and there...It's gone commercial and that's what brought the fall to Trance too..
That's why new labels like Cuttin' Sounds and Rockhard Recordings is a pleasant welcome. It's run by Lisa Pin-Up and they strive to bring bouncy Hard House back. Stimulant DJ's, Captain Tinrib, Lisa Lashes etc also does it. BK & Nick Sentience as well as Fergie is a bit guilty of having commercialised their tunes...
But I have to say that thwey still rock !!

I used to be a devoted trancer, but now I'm getting into some hard and acid house. Anyone have any recommendations on tracks? I'm new to the genre.
I like a bit of Hard House every now and then...
Nick Sentience - Here it Comes
Nick Sentience - Trippy
Mauro Picotto - Iguana [BK & Nick Sentience Mix]
Lisa Pin-Up - Baddest Mutha [BK & Nick Sentience Mix]
Hmmm... anyone detect a pattern there?
If u're into the Acid Hard House sorta thing then Lisa Pin-Up should be your first choice. Project 303 is also good. Warp Brothers can maybe also be callsified as Hard Acid House...dunno...Still, pretty good. Check out my tune P.H.A.T.T. - Here We Go at www.mp3.com/phatt there's some Acid Hard House
HardHouse Euphoria mixed by Lisa Lashes ....totally bloody awesome!!
I dare you to listen to CD1 .....and try and keep your hands and feet still !
Agree, don't mind a bit of hard house now an then.
Tranceforce!, try and id some of the tunes from ANNE SAVAGE's which would be more than appreciated!!
hell yeah, that's an amazing set. Lisa Lashes really has the best Hard House sets in my opinion.
G K Murray : I'll try. I'm just having problems signing up for an account at AG...it keeps timing ou
Hard house choon
despite this being quite popular in my oppinion the best track of 2001 in the hard house department is:
Heaven's Cry - Til' Tears Do Us Part [Flash harry mix]
that is my ideal type of hard house, it borders on hard trance, to the likes of S.H.O.K.K., Dumonde, and Marco V. Most hard house I hear in the U.S. is at a too-fast bpm, undanceable, and too reminiscient of Happy Hardcore.
cheers
Ilina
Hardhouse is quite good so long as its not "cartoony" hardhouse (i.e C90 feat. MC Duke-I'm riffin, Norman Bass-How do you like Bass, etc.) Lot of the early Fergie stuff is good. Tony De Vit, Lisa Lashes, Lisa Pin-Up, Tidy Boys. Lately BK and Nick Sentience have been making some good stuff.
i love Chicago Hard House...lol...cuz i'm from Chicago...cant really give u any songs i like cuz i never really catch the names of them...lol...i love it cuz of the beats...theyre great...bangin, fast, jus plain crazy...lol...
Hard House for me is all about pulsing bass, urgent riffs and crazy hoovers. A hoover like the one that is thrown in before the break in BK & dBM - Eternal Flame is wicked..or OD404 - 9 Bar [BK Mix]..excellent stuff.
I like hardhouse too,as long as it isn't too clichd with helium rap samples or hoovers. In norway the hardhouse djs spin things that are a bit different,a bit more techno-edged than the usual party-party crap from the UK,which I like very much. Here are some cool tunes:
Everything from BK & Nick Sentience (virtually everything that they do,either together, alone or with somebody else is totally wicked. When PvD dropped "Flash" @ Rosenmontag I thought I was going to bang my head off
)
Champion Burns - Shred It Up and Visions Of Heaven
Captain Tinrib & The Nun - I've Got Ya
Fast Floor - Frequency (I've discovered this underground choon all by myself!
*feels proud*)
JS Ten - Devastation
Organ Donors - Bomb Thrush (All mixes)
Knuckleheadz - Bezerk
Frisco - Live In Bilbao
OD404 - Don't Touch That Stereo
Domi-Nation - Fat Revolutionaries (Wicked mash-up of Leftfield's "Phat Planet" and the vocals of Superchumbo's "The Revolution")
I don't really like the U.S. Hardhouse like dj's bam bam, and venom and stuff, there's not really that much to each beat
but i love uk hardhouse like dj's lisa lashes and andy farley etc....jon the dentist is awesome when he plays hard house!!
all i can say.........
Lisa Lashes - live on slam FM.....one of the best old mixes around!
can anyone recommend some good new hard house sets?? thanks
best hard house tune is
Tony De Vit - The dawn (paul janes mix)
I got a limited edition vinyl from Tidy Trac a few weeks back with 2 unreleased tracks of Tony De Vit. Hell, it's awesome. It would have to be made before 1998, because that's when he died (RIP), but it sounds like it was made in 2002. Excellent stuff.
Yeah, everything BK and Nick Sentience touch is GOLD !
