any organic food nuts here?

you think you're better than us conventional food eaters?

Posted by RJT on Jul-16-2007 19:35:

Nope, just more conscientious of our impact on the planet and the way the animals we eat are treated.

Fact.

How are they any different than regular foods?

Fucks sake. You don't need to eat fucking Kashi cereal and shop at Whole Foods to eat organically.

Plz disregard everything from Clarisse Muvembe - Roses to Rocco - Stormy, I changed it all

Posted by Frenchie on Jul-16-2007 19:43:

See, I think I'm just used to very crappy food. Not as in I buy shitty food, more like the food we buy is just not as ...healthy? for you.

It was food actually bought at our health and organic food store here in town. I just don't fancy it.

Seeing as I don't have a tracklist and I probably won't know any of the tracks in it anyways I'll just review the whole thing.

Yeah - you really don't need to shop at those places to eat organically.

You can still go to your regular grocery store and just buy organic produce and meat, or you can find out about your local farmers markets, really there are any number of ways to eat organically, and the majority of the good ways don't come with designer names or big price tags.

Yeah man, you can buy organic at "normal" supermarkets...most stuff is labeled as such.

Posted by Slylee on Jul-16-2007 19:56:

it's still more expensive. i spent $5 on organic salsa from publix one time (normal grocery store here).

definitely. I eat the odd 'organic' thing, cos in places it's good, but in others I see little difference, milk etc I can't taste anything diff etc. I just think esp fruit & veg can be much better, but more importantly, buying quality food is better than buying the dirt cheap. You get more goodness from it

Posted by Slylee on Jul-16-2007 20:01:

the only time i ever really drink milk is with cereal once in a while, so i started buying vanilla soy milk. gives it some flavor since i get the healthy kind of cereal with no flavor (shreaded wheat, etc..)

Posted by DJ_Eternal on Jul-16-2007 20:04:

I would like to try some organic food, but it's all too expensive here. That's the price you pay for being considerate of the planet wanting to eat healthily.

I can't really afford to splash out on luxuries like organic food.

There's your problem. Make that shit, yo.

And even if you don't make it, to be honest, if you're a smart shopper and pay attention to your local markets, you can buy all organic and not spend much more money at all (unless you're buying a lot of meat).

Seriously, people really have this misconception that it's always more expensive to buy organic. It isn't. You just have to change the way you shop.
