Review - WEMF

well i guess this is for Day 1.

wow, so much fun. sad i missed deko-ze tho. Apparently he was all over the place, but was great seeing him in the crowd busting it out!

Chris Liberator popped my Techno cherry, wow, the man delivered and hard! couldnt stop dancing.

Deadmau5 came after great beats and he was rocking it. Left after 20 mins or so for a break


Came back in for Donald Glaude vs. Jelo. Those form quite the duo. Was fun to see them going at it. They had to do like 5 encores as the crowd was so into it. Music wise, they were 8/10, some stuff wasnt my thing, but the energy was great.

4-4 stage was less busy, but the crowd was intense, didnt really check the dnb side.


Met lots of TA's.

Time for showa and revitalize now! and head for Day 2!

Wow. After this weekend I'm officially retired from three-day parties.

Thanks to deadmau5 for the great tuneage on the drive up. You were so cute to keep your backpack on while you were spinning.

LOL to the first casualty, the guy who couldn't walk and kept falling over and not spilling his beer. Did someone get a picture of that?

Friday night was good, Dekoze took my on a few rides, and Jelo and Glaude were tonnes of fun.

Saturday was something else. Hatiras kicked my ass. His set built up until Space Invaders which destroyed me. Adam Sheridan mopped up what was left of me, and kicked my ass once more. Didn't think I would have anything else left, but Preach and Mark EG managed to get me onto the floor as well.

Great seeing everyone again, and meeting some new faces. Hope to see everyone again real soon.

It is now recovery time.

MSTKRFT was pretty wicked. First time hearing their type of music and I really got into it. That stache on the guy is so old school!

Mark EG, also wicked beats, crazy guy, but apparently not as crazy as previous performances! I hope the girl i was dancing with at Mark EG is on here, please hook me up with the pic of me and EG, very scary pic!

Then preach came on. He sucked the last bit of energy in me. His beats were wicked.

Nice meeting larissa, sara and bunch of others I cant remember names!

WTF moment of saturday is when some guy gets busted having sex in another chicks tent. rofl

Did Preach play a techno set? Or more tech trance?

I loved MSTRKRFT at decadence (this year) and MOD club (last year). Glad to hear they got you in a groove. Everyone who sees them for the first time mentions the 'stache' in the review ROFL!!!

Highlights:
-Perfect Weather
-Glaude vs Jelo: Rage Against The Machine - Killing in the Name Of...GTFOSUPERAWESOME! and Deadau5 edit of Daft Punk. Insane energy, love when those two get together.
-suprisingly low sketchfactor
-learning to not only avoid white as a clothing colour choice, but avoid wearing exclusively white, especially to wemf lol

Saturday drinkfest:
-Chance to rock out and drop some trouseytechtrance.
-"ManCans" of Heini (the only way I'm drinking beer at wemf now lol)
-B2B w/ NuEra playin filthyhouse at 2 different renegade stages for like 4 hours - Its about damn time we finally lined up for some versus action!
-Random girl demanding a piggy back, but not knowing how to hold on properly lol

The Subway sub on the way home made my life complete lol. I can't wait to see pictures of all the weekend shenanagins

Jay and Jamie - my rival drunks , Aren - always a pleasure wemfing with you, Andrew - we need to slam tracks again that was a blast, Jen - effin hilarious gettin loaded with you as usual, Jay - we must exchange witty banter very soon, Dennis the true rockstar, Barry - Im always impressed with your ability to pull things together, a random outlet in a field, lol no average guy would spot that!, Lars CALL MEEEE, Sarah the archer, Pett -let me know when you have some time I'd like to check your traktor setup, Muzzy you rawk! Friday I cought Liberator and Deadmau5. Played some wicked sets but I couldn't really get into it.

Saturday was much much better.

At first I was kinda annoyed that pretty much every stage outside except like 2 were playing DnB or Hardstyle.

Finally found a tent "Bound by SOund" in Camp Area A that was playing some good trance. I think John McDonald was his name. I was finnaly having some good times.

The real fun started at 4:00pm when RobDawg (NYTA) came on the New Talent Stage. Finally some proper trance...and he fuckin killed it. Listened to him again later in the evening at the DCM stage! ROBDAWG you fuckin rocked and thanks for the Demo!

Adam Sheridan - played some good trance that I was dying to hear all day!

MSTRKRFT - best way to describe it was TOTAL MINDFUCK! Just awesome!

Mark EG - This is the craziest son of a bitch that i have ever seen in my live...it was great

Preach - Played a tech-trance set...Had me dancing non-stop.

I'd have to say that the sets I enjoyed the most were Adam Sheridan, MSTRKRFT and Preach. THey didn't disappoint...Especially MSTRKRFT.

It was great meeting some TA's. Thanks Dima for introducing me!

Well thats all for the review. I have some videos but i have to see if i can get the sound a cleared up a little and then i'll post them.

I was told that to write a proper review I need to use all 5 of my senses but maybe next time

WEMF = best one yet due to low sketch factor and good company and wicked tunes...

Everything went off without a hitch, minus finding randoms fucking in my tent on saturday night.

Yeah, it was crappy walking through the DnB/junlge stage to get to the good stuff, but I wouldn't really call it a problem.

I love wemf, i hate jungle.
good times with good friends is whats its all about. I don't go to wemf expecting good music but we got some quality tunes this year, partly due to some great renegade setups.

Highlights : jelo vs. glaude, adam sheridan , nuera, endgame, hahn
weather, venue (although the walk to the cars sucked and no campfires sucked) , low sketchfactor, frisbee, football, ample space for camping.

Lowlights: trying to sleep with hardcore music pounding away, missing deadmau5 due to traffic, jungle. Wasn't too much to complain about.

You are right. That tent was banging. There was also one more stage in another area that was playing some good trance.

I have to disagree worst set ever it sounded so broken and all over the place no flow !!

Had a great time ... danced my ass off ... got messy ... u know like every other wemf !!!

I went last year and i liked it way more. FIrstly last year it was chris lubricator and dave on fri whcih is way better than having glaude and lubricator like this year. And on sat last year lineup was way better than this year and sceduling was thoughtful. thrillseekers>j00f>mark>savage = techtrance/psy /techno and hardstyle/harddance. Like u know last year music was getting hardder and harder like it should and this year it was all over the place in the mainstage. I think mstrkrf played after sheridan and mark eg after mstrkf like wtf. Mood killer. Plus i didnt like the headliners this year very thin and generic lineup.

How was Pendulum??
