Roll Call: MASTRKRFT @ Till Friday Sept 7 2007

I absolutely love these guys saw them for the 1st time a few months back at the drink and they swept me off my feet with their first track, it was just crunchy and at a fast pace. THey Stole the show at this years LOL and what blows me away is that they have only been around for about 2 years officially and all the tunes they deliver are super solid. After seeing them at the drink I checked out a few of the videos on You tube and they rock all their shows. They were the only act I was truly exited to see on the second day of this years Wemf and they totally delivered the hardest electro sound ever totally insane. There going to be at this years LOL in the Tent outside and I so recommend that if your there take at least 30min out of your night to come see these guys if you havent before!

Some Info:
MSTRKRFT (read as "Masterkraft") is an electronic music group from Toronto (East York), Ontario, Canada who are signed to Last Gang Records. The group was started in 2005 by Jesse F. Keeler formerly of Death from Above 1979 and Al-P (Alex Puodziukas) formerly of the Mississauga electropop group Girlsareshort. Al-P was also the producer for Death from Above 1979's debut album You're a Woman, I'm a Machine as well as several of (Jesse's former band) Black Cat #13's records. MSTRKRFT also produced Die Mannequin's first EP, How to Kill, and Magneta Lane's second LP, Dancing With Daggers.

Their first single was "Easy Love", released in 2006. The music video featured four women in business suits drinking strawberry milkshakes. In the second half of the video, the women get into dentists' chairs and get strawberry milkshake poured on them. They released their second single, "Work On You", on July 6th. In contrast to the "Easy Love" music video, "Work On You" featured animated robots similar to those found in classic cartoons (see: Voltron, Transformers ). Although The Looks is MSTRKRFT's first album featuring original content, the band has created remixes from a variety of other artists ranging from Buck 65 to The Kills to Jesse F. Keeler's own band, Death from Above 1979.

MSTRKRFT released their first LP, The Looks, on July 18th, 2006 in the United States and February 2nd, 2007 in Britain. It contains only original material, including the songs "Easy Love", "Work On You", and "Paris". Keeler and Al-P told Eye Weekly weeks before the release of The Looks, that as the album was being finished, the planning stages for a follow-up record had already begun. Describing the upcoming album's new direction, Al-P said that the album would be "darker, underground disco and house with elements of American rock music."

Additionally, set to be released as a single is the remixed "2007" version of their song "Street Justice". On the band's website message board, Keeler mentioned they were also working on a compilation album comprised of their remixed tracks.

Their song "Paris" was featured in a 2006 commercial for the online music store URGE. MSTRKRFT is scheduled to appear at the 2007 World Electronic Music Festival (July 20-23).

i wanna go to this, but being 20 i'm kind of worried about the bouncers being assholes at the door.. some have told me you HAVE to come with girls to get in in this case, another told me there's no problem unless you look like a fratboy douche with a popped collar polo... anyone who goes often have their own insight?

Damnit..

i wanna go now haha

Posted by Zentac_75 on Sep-05-2007 00:45:

Honestly...I have never had an issue getting into TIL. Even when I was 20. I don't go there in a blazer or where a tie, and I don't show up with a cab full of sexy ladies. Actually, the last few times I went I was in T-shirt with a silly phrase on it. No Problems. Only time I've seen someone rejected was for wearing dirty white sneakers.

And I have seen a LOT of people there I thought were not in 'dress code'.

Don't be scared. Just get on guestlist. Get there at a reasonable hour and you will be fine.

DaRoza...you should make that Picture of you and MSTRKRFT into a T-shirt. Wear it this Friday, and then get another one of them same pose while wearing the Tshirt.

DO IT!!!!!!

I'm gonna try and sneak an old school goalie mask in.

WOOT WOOT for grinding buzzsaw electro !!!

edit* I am also curious to see AOKI, some sexy ladies I know saw him at Ultra a few months back and said he was awesome.*

I totally remember seeing you going nuts right up front throughout their entire set. I was just a few peeps to your right. Awesome awesome performance.

I thought I met you later in the night, but I remember hearing the name Mohamed, not Sandeep, so It couldn't have been you I introduced myself too.
