windsor had its thread...how about HAMILTON???
I've really noticed over the last year and a bit that the scene has started to grow past downtown Toronto and grow all over southern Ontario. London has had a few great events...Van Door the most notable. the K.W and tri city area has had a solid number of events thanks to Firebush. Scumfrog, Hatiras, The All Day party with an allstar ine up of toronto dj's, Deadmau5, Tommy Lee...Windsor and the Boom Boom room have been booking some wicked wicked talent too. Carl Cox? need I say more?.....and then here's Hamilton. 3-4 years ago everyone in our city would jump in their cars and drive an hour down the QEW Toronto bound. the last two years we've had little reason too. and in the last 6 months and up coming months, there's been NO reason to.
We've been lucky enough to get a dose of the Toronto guys like Jelo, Nathan Barato & CArlo Lio, Dekoze, Mark Oliver, Greg Gow, Hatiras, Macca, Sydney Blu, Adam Duke, Lee Osborne, Evan G, Vinyl Junkies, Brad Copeland, Manzone and Strong all on a weekly basis...but 2007 we've been treated to a tittie load of international talent (not much in Toronto standards...but hell of alot compared to what happened in 2006 in Hamilton) this year we've been privileged to hear Donald Glaude, Chris Lake, Dj Sneak, Bad Boy Bill, Dj Dan, Kenneth Thomas & Deadmau5 (yes local by postal code, but definatly not local inregards to talent)and coming in the next few months Starkillers, Max Graham, Kobbe and Dirty South.
The year is nearing to and end, but the good season is upon us. If us Hamiltonians continue the gorth we've had this year into next year, I think my head will explode.
damn windsor and hamilton, nothing left in niagara! lol
I agree with you that the talent coming into Hamilton is defiantly on the rise.
The talent isn't international but the Toronto locals are coming down which us edm lovers appreciate
The only problem with Hamilton is that it is a small town in reference to Toronto/Mississauga
and hip hop is so dominant over here
i can't speak for most hamiltonians, but for me and my friends, not all of them are into house (my closer ones are)
but when we party with older friends or we don't want 2 spend alot of money we party hamilton style, hess/port dalhousie/ that type of stuff
now when we want to spend money and hear some awesome house/trance music
we go to toronto
and we could go to hamilton for some good house/trance at a decent venue, but if we are guna dress-up nice, and bring some cash flow, we'd rather be in a big city, with big names, with good lights/sound and money spent on the club
i guess the big city attracts us

Where is this Windsor thread?

| Originally posted by Owen M I wouldn't count that as Nigaras attempt. It was the super powers of toronto trying to create a market in a tourist city. Once the locals start getting their own things going, then it will spawn....I think st. Kitts is the next one in the Golden Horseshoe area to have some shows. |

hamilton sucks
toronto throws its garbage at hamilton.
the trance at mac events at o lounge were always bomb. sizzle attracts a bit of a stuck up bottle service crowd that sort of kills the vibe but its better than nothing.
still, donalde glaude and jelo at o lounge was a very memorable night that i decided to go to at the last minute.
its nice because the events are usually reasonable for a students budget and when you live in the area its not a pain to do the commute, find parking and then struggle back home when its all over.
hehehe london.... stay tuuuned.
hows this look for sat?
