this may be stupid

can you move the upper part of your jaw with out moving the bottom?

aka move the skull and the upper jaw and the lower one stays in place? i cant seem to do it, i can only move my lower jaw.

why aren tyou able to move either or though. maybe i just dont get how it works. if its a hinge you hsould be able to move either or

i tried that.

i was moving my jaw and trying to move my upper jaw, and then i relized that i couldnt do it. so i decided to ask the cor.

well, it all depends on what perspective you look at it from. If youre upside down then your lower jaw then becomes the "upper jaw". A close analysis of the joins also suggest that it is impossible from scientific standpoint due to the way your jaw is fastened to your skull and its angular rate of change.
