DJM700 is EXPENSIVE!!!

Holy crap! I just got the DJ's Bible, ooops I mean ProSound catalog, and they have the DJM700 on sale for $1299 (MSRP $1500)!!!! That's how much I got my DJM800 for! They also raised the price of the DJM800 to $1549 (MSRP $1699)!!! Ouch!!! For those that don't know, the DJM700 is Pioneer's new mixer. It's essentially a stripped down version of the DJM800.

Posted by limin_li on Oct-02-2007 23:14:

why so expensive? DJM 700 is only the 2 channel mixer right?

Posted by limin_li on Oct-02-2007 23:18:

Nope, looks like a DJM 600 copy cat..

Posted by Beatflux on Oct-02-2007 23:20:

They raised the price? That sucks.

Posted by miamitranceman on Oct-02-2007 23:26:

Haha. Man, in that long 700 thread I don't think anyone anticipated them RAISING the 800's price.

Never would have guessed that either. Glad I bought mine when I did. I guess if thier supply can't keep up with the demand, they can get away with raising the price. Super weak though.

i've been in debate for a while, looks like my choice has been made for me, xone 92 rotary it is

A fine choice. My only beef with that mixer is that the knobs are a little too close together, but I guess you get used to it.

Posted by Soundwerks on Oct-03-2007 02:59:

uhhh....the DJM-800 has always been $1549....MAP price anyway.

Posted by miamitranceman on Oct-03-2007 03:12:

I'm curious why you guys would automatically jump over to a Xone and forgo the 700. By all accounts, it's essentially the same mixer as the 800 with some rearranged buttons and maybe the loss of an effect or two.

Not trying to start a huge A&H/Pio debate or anything. Just wondering.

Posted by Saint John on Oct-03-2007 04:01:

so yeah...i still dont get why they would raise the price? its not like there was any inflation of them or something....

Isn't the pio 700 like a 4ch version of the 900?
On further inspection... wtf?

the top picture - a djm700 that looks like a djm707, was an april fools joke from a year or so ago. look closely it has 2 channel 2's.

AGAIN, the DJM-800 has ALWAYS been $1549...thats the MAP price, so you guys could have gotten it cheaper...but the advertised price has always been $1549.

As for the DJM-700's price, again, its MAP (minimum advertised price)....so if you call and ask, you'll likely get it cheaper.

Why am I defending Pioneer when I sell ECLER?

Posted by i got big pants on Oct-03-2007 16:48:

maybe because you dont want to go through the hassle of explaining in the instance something like that happens to ecler.

Posted by Briden on Oct-03-2007 17:34:

i paid $2500 for my DJM800 and it was well worth it!

Posted by DJ Manuel C on Oct-03-2007 18:33:

The pioneer djm800 is an excellent mixer. Hands down one of the best that I have used. If you want to go on sound quality and not worry too much about effects I would go with a Rane. But I must say that the beat effects of this mixer are excellent, and you cannot ask for a better quality filter The 700 is the exact same thing, only difference is that they took off the harmonic mixing, crush & sweep effects.

Because you want to sell Pioneer? =P

All kidding aside, did the price for EFX-1000's drop recently? I seem to recall them not being advertised for as low as $800.
