Allen & Heath: Mixed In Key 3.0
Hi all,
We have released Version 3.0 of Mixed In Key. Using a patent-pending process for key detection, the new version provides even more accurate results - including multiple keys for more variety. It also integrates seamlessly with top DJ software like Ableton Live, Traktor, Torq and DJ hardware like Pioneer CD-Js and DVJs.
The main goal of this program is to analyze MP3 and WAV files. It identifies the key of a track, and shows which other tracks are harmonically compatible. Mixed In Key is currently used by Pete Tong, Ali 'Dubfire' from Deep Dish, Kaskade, Shane 54, Kuffdam, 4 Strings, Blank & Jones and many more. Global Underground 31 was put together with the help of Mixed In Key, and Mixed In Key is used on many DJ sets recorded for BBC Radio 1 and Proton Radio.

Here are the links to explain the new algorithm:

Plus, here's an article that may be interesting to everyone who uses harmonic mixing: Energy boost mixing (8A to 10A)
If you have any questions, please post them here so I can reply and help out. Thanks for checking this out. TA was the first place where we announced version 1.0, so it's nice to announce the Allen & Heath + Original Version 3.0 here as well.
Cheers,
Yakov
So spamming is called "announcing" now?
Too expensive... If it were cheaper i would buy it to try it out.
For now i'll use my ears.

Hi guys,
I hope this topic is relevant to the DJ Booth -- I like reading about DJ mixers and new DJ software versions (like Ableton Live, Traktor, etc). TranceAddict is a great place to get the latest news. Since Mixed In Key is part of the Allen & Heath lineup, it gets the same attention from A&H as their XONE mixers. Check out http://www.xone.co.uk if you're curious.
I also understand your comment about not posting spam. I won't post that "Mixed In Key enhances your sex life!" or "A++ Quality Rolex Repl1ca Mixed In Key for sale of wellknown brand"
But I believe that this thread is relevant because thousands of DJs here already use harmonic mixing. We respect the spam guidelines but I think this is different. Mystery, have you used it before?
Yes. But why do I need to pay for some software to do that?
We've gone through all this before.
isnt it not as accurate as other software thats free/cheaper?
Hi Mystery,
Sometimes it's nice to have a tool that can speed up the process. It's like having a Kaoss Pad or EFX-500 -- if it helps you sound better as a DJ, you may get booked more often. Our software works like that -- if it helps the DJ, we're happy. Mixed In Key's price is reasonable and it comes with free lifetime updates. It takes six months to make each version -- we work on it full-time, so it costs money to design it.
Big pants: the other program is called Rapid Evolution, and you can find it here: [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
We believe that our latest version has the best algorithm available today, which is why so many professional DJs use it. But, we like the competition
It results in a better product for everyone (both commercial like ours, and freeware like Rapid Evolution). There is no downside to competition.

You're so adorable
Well you just make it too easy my friend. I'm sure if you sat there for a couple more minutes you could have bs'ed your way through my question.
I rarely do things I don't have to.

Well at least the thread is a little funnier now
Cheers Mystery, Doombot.
Just to clarify, I don't have anything against your software, just the way you use this place for advertising it.

Is it true that in V 3.0 we'll need an internet connection to key tracks? what if im burning CDs at the gig (due to an emergency or something) and i dont have an internet connection?
And what is exactly being submitted over the internet for our tracks to be keyed?
