Skazi (live) & Josh Allen @Henry Fonda Theatre 12/08

A bit early, but this should be a great show. Anybody into Infected Mushroom should really dig these guys and their sound. I dont believe they have made it to LA yet, so hopefully they will have a great show.

I will be opening up for these guys at the Henry Fonda Theatre December 8th. Hope all of the PSYTRANCE fans can make this!!!

updated w/ flyer

here is a video of a show in Brazil they did. Enjoy

here is another

and this is why i always say psytrance is the heavy metal of EDM
and this is why i love it, i grew up a metal head

but ugh, morillo is the same night! FCK!!!!!

Posted by element-y on Oct-17-2007 07:09:

many people hate skazi - infected being one of them. Skazis sounds are pretty much the same as far as production to one another, but that doesnt mean it isnt good. It might not be as advanced as Infected, and might be more towards metal then psycho beats, but it still rocks. And this is one event you DO NOT want to miss. He is one crazy bad ass live. Expect the roof to be blown off. Been waiting for a us gig from this guy for so long.

Posted by psychedelic_Ed on Oct-17-2007 18:52:

Josh, sounds fun.

Yeah thats true, a lot of psy fans hate this guy and his band. Too metally for them, but then again I love it...as I use to listen to hardcore (metal) and must admit I once saw a dj duo playing this new sound (whihc was psy to me) and then the other guy pulled out a guitar out of no where. I was instantly hooked and now its all about psy!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. hahaha

If I'm around I'll check it out, is he for sure coming this time? He was suppose to be here back in ...what...last october? And he cancelled. Same thing in NYC, I bet he has a show in NYC too. I should look that up...

Thanks for the heads up.

BTW: whats up gypsy.

for so long now have I waited for this, let's hope they really make it this time and no freakin cancellation at last minute!

soo jealous of LA... man! all we get in SF is kyau and albert and above & beyond all the time.... soo jealous.... time to get some psy that can bring u above & beyond the beyond...

Posted by element-y on Oct-18-2007 00:32:

his site is down for me. maybe its removed. used to be skazi.tv
i cant find any dates of a tour so maybe this is just one gig thing. He has nothing on myspace about it.

Posted by djjoshuaallen on Oct-18-2007 00:58:

That is strange, i was not aware that he was not liked within the psy world. It is a bit hard edge that is for sure, but seems like he puts on a hell of a show.

I believe the contract was just finalized yesterday so it may be a few days before sites are promoting it, but unless he personally backs out of it, its going down.

There also is another confirmed date in march of 08.
A show with myself, skazi, and yahel all on the bill. I think this one will be at the shrine auditorium

Yeah, Skazi is a fucking dick. Skazi = The Tiesto of psy. He ditched his gig last year in October and poor Yahel got stuck playing for an angry crowd and the fucking promoters never payed him for the gig either.

Skazi sold their soul to Pepsi.

Enough negativity. Continue your thread.

OH HELL YEA!!! dude your opening up for the best artists now. Living the life - congrats.

Yahel and Skazi WOOHOO!Will this be both shows live or both shows dj?

Posted by fukuy98 on Oct-18-2007 05:20:

Anyone who hates Skazi for their music is plain crazy, if i have to pick between Skazi and IM on same night, I pick Skazi no doubt. However, it's true that Skazi will bring out a very very diff crowd from that of IM or Astrix, so be prepared anyone who's yet experienced this.

Posted by element-y on Oct-18-2007 07:44:

Well skazis music does lack depth in its production thats for sure. The beats are the same, the songs pretty much use the same system. But Skazi is a master at pulling off a live show. Asher is out of his mind. And yea, the crowd is different to an extent. Still will be israelis and latinos for the most part because thats this groups focus target, but the target is those of a heavier tone. I love this stuff live because you can still dance to the simple beat but rock harder than most rock bands - at a dance club. IM is more of a musical focus, this is more of a TIME DO GO APE SHIT!!! Dont miss this event.

I will pass on the message sir
i say a road trip is DEF. in order, you guys should come down for one of these shows for sure

Posted by dj spunk on Oct-18-2007 19:35:

I think he has been to LA before. I've seen his name on some flyer for an event at Alexandria Hotel a year or so back. Does anyone know if he's doing a live set or just mixing. His live sets are kind of wack and sound the same at the same time I do love his DJ sets.
Here is him Live at Moscow, one of the best sets from him I have seen

click bellow to see the vid

http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=6534333218553710651&hl=en

edit. Just saw in the title that he's doing live set. Thats too bad I kind of wanted to see him.

EDM is repetitive at its nature, psytrance itself is prob the best example of this. How Skazi music diff from that of IM and Astrix and the like the way I see it is Skazi's being more, much more dark and brutal, to the point it appears to be the same and boring to quite a few people. It's just pretty much about the taste. If Astral Projection is your fav, then very likely you hate Skazi to the death, no doubt. Another example is like this, not all metalhead out there enjoy black metal or brutal death metal or extreme metal for what is worth. But that says nothing about the music. It's just the taste, and whether or not you have the right mentality to enjoy that kind of art. You're right on about the Skazi's crowd. And for sure, don't miss this event \m/

Posted by element-y on Oct-19-2007 20:15:

i dunno. i think psytrance is by far the least repetitive music in EDM.

They should book skazi for Ultra along with Infected Mushroom. Those two would shred the place up...long time! haha

?????

Where did you get this information?
Actually, Skazi used to book Infected back when Skazi was the night at a club in Israel - they have known each other since back in the way back...matter of fact, Asher is playing guitar with Netz and Tommy at an upcoming show in Israel on Nov. 23rd...

chiggity check yo self fool

Posted by element-y on Oct-20-2007 03:41:

In hebrew channel interviews. I remember one was with IM and Yahel and the interviewer was like - israeli psytrance is huge around the world and everyone should vote. Vote for Infected, yahel, even (laughing) skazi. Then IM and yahel kinda chuckle. Its been in a few interviews. Its not like a personal hate, just i guess they dont consider him in the same category. No idea. Guess just styles of music. They also said - forgot if it was yahel or IM that Asher has a crazy personality and can be a dick. WHO CARES. If we dont know him, we shoudnt judge by word of mouth.

But hey, I love seeing Skazi live. Ill so be at this show.

He is a dick. He swears like he is a fucking rock star. I have plenty of proof but I don't want to hijack Josh's thread.

Enjoy Skazi!

Posted by element-y on Oct-20-2007 09:04:

ANYWAYS... i wish people would book skazi more often. LA is on top of all bookings be it psytrance or trance, etc. And JOSH... you are one lucky son of a bitch all the time man haha. I wish Colorado would bring Skazi for a gig.

They aren't good about keeping their gig list updated - but it will be one show of about 5 (more than likely)

Confirmed:
Miami on the 6th
Los Angeles on the 8th
Chihuahua on the 14th

More shows in the works.
