NYE 2008 Vegas!

Alriighhttt, I've decided to hit up Vegas this year for NYE!

Any ideas on what's brewing out there as far as the EDM world goes?? Cheers, brothas and sistas!



I'll be adding to this as the thread moves on, here's what's been found so far:

DEC 30, SUN

1) EMPIRE BALLROOM - DEADMAU5 ** UPDATE (Unofficial): Deadmau5 is NOT spinning on the 30th, but he will be opening up on the 31st at 9PM? for the Groove Radio party! Set time is unofficial.

2) JET - BAD BOY BILL & FAARSHEED, CHRIS GARCIA, JONAS TEMPEL. Wanttickets Link.

3) BODY ENGLISH @ HARD ROCK HOTEL - "Sunday School" -- House music. Ladies dressed in Sunday School outfits drink complimentary champagne all night long! Body English.

0) THE STRIP - Huge fireworks display planned for midnight, the strip will be closed to vehicular traffic and the party is totally free.

yeah... i know, i'm usually in la, want something different this year! as spoiled as we are with our edm dj's, the same venues, same experiences... can get you pretty jaded after all these years.

really happy with my decision, really excited, now it's about hunting down the events >=) [evil smile]!

Word of advise: Stay far away from the strip New Years Eve. It is definately not the way to go. (unless your under 21).

Are you crazy? That is the most wildest craziest party I have ever seen anywhere!

I would say, be on the Strip right at midnight. Next the New York Times Square, this is the biggest party.

They close the strip down to cars and it is just full of people. Only gonna see this kind of experience in Vegas

It was fun... but wasnt all that for me... definately worth a 1 time experience though but "i" wouldnt do it again...

personally i prefer the atmosphere of a good club and music....

i spent my first NYE here on the strip. Ended up walking around with a prostitute, getting on the news coverage with said prostitute, then losing said prostitute in the bellagio somehow...then stumbling back to car and going home.


its fun in that 'theres soo many people all drinking and screaming' kinda way.

Well said. The strip NYE is a one time deal. The strip is full of gangsters and riot police. Even the poor Police horses have a shield guarding their eyes. (Be careful of those horses...they will go straight into a crowd!)

Listen up fellow party animal stayyy away from the strip its packed by little kids and dumb drunk people I am sure there will be some EDM event

Ron Reeser (sf) is playin in vegas on nye, i dont know exactly where yet but i know its somewhere over there

seriously I am spending 4 nights in vegas for my bachelor party. I don't want to be arsed NYE, so I am going to make a reservation somehwere or buy tickets (if there's anything going on??? Kid Rock at Jet?!?!? NO WAY!)

Best bet for anything is probalby going to be at Empire or HOB after hours...in any case better make some pre-midnight plans.

I'm not sad anymore about missing Tiesto in LA cause he absolutely he blew hard at TIC in Brazil.

Just gimme Halliwell and I'll be fine!

hm, all this talk about drunken people on the strip makes it all the more enticing.

at this point, the ideal NYE sounds like being on the strip til the countdown, then hitting up an EDM event!

I'm starting to give up on anything major going down, but I am still going to have a blast. Best shot is for something after hours at Empire. Armin and many other are still unaccounted for, I believe, but I hardly doubt we'll see him in Vegas.

yea, vegas is not into spending big money on big dj's on big holidays. they would rather spend less money on big dj's for the middle of the week or sometime around a big holiday. so expect a big name the night before or a few days before nye.

that's fine with me Boomer, I'll take the leftovers from other cities big NYEs. I've got 4 nights before! 2 nights bachelor party, then the next 2 with about 20 peeps...in fact could be easier going out the days before!

that works out well for ya, you will prolly get something worthwhile then

at this rate, i might stay in LA/SD
