Monkey Dancer 2 Never Stop Dancing Yet.....

Yeah, that's the name of one of my fav tracks from yesteryear.

Anyway, do your parents still like going out for some dancing or to parties to have alittle fun?

Posted by Clovis on Oct-25-2007 00:20:

My mom came to avalon once for Sasha & JZ to see what all the fuss was about, but she left before Sasha even started

Posted by Battlekat on Oct-25-2007 00:24:

my dad was a night clubber back in his day. after a severe back injury he didnt go out anymore. he was probably about 30 when that happened.

but no.. my parents will go to a concert of some oldies band or some mariachi or something like that

once in a while, if a good merengue group comes to town.

My parents still go out to day events like Earthdance, and they put on a show. Dancing away like no one's business...its great to see all sorts of people into it..regardless of anything right?

No doubt bro, I had to convince my friend to take his pops to On Broadway to see Ferry perform in July, his pops is a huge fan! My friend was like man you don't go clubbing with your pops, I was like man, you gotta take your pops who cares if anyone thinks its "not cool" the fact that your pops is into EDM, is sick. luckily, he took him and he had a blast! he was singing his heart out to "Fire"

Re: Never Stop Dancing Yet.....

I took my mom to Coachella last time I went (2006). She wasn't crazy about the dance tent, but enjoyed the rest of the stuff. i've also taken her to Rilo Kiley and Zero 7/Gotan Project.

DJIdeal, JSmooth619 and the others that take their mom or pop out... THAT's AWESOME!

My Mom thinks I listen to TECHNO and think people go to club b/c of the "extacsy"

My stepdad on the other hand seems to be ok with the music I listen too.

Do I ever see them at a club?? HELL NO! Would I ever take them? HELL NO!

Posted by TSG on Oct-25-2007 05:36:

BOOOOO! You're no fun!

Posted by djjoshuaallen on Oct-25-2007 06:29:

love this thread.

my parents think i hang out at hollywood clubs with lindsey lohan and other A-list celebs. They would shit their pants if they walked into avalon/circus/vanguard

I took my mom to see Ulrich Schnauss. She loves him.

Its was my friends dad, my parents wouldn't step into to a EDM club, they say that its Drug-addict music. To a certain extent they got a point.

I think Asians born in Asian countries already are exposed to some sort of "techno." I know when I go to Vietnamese weddings, there's always a "techno" song but it sounds more like vocal dance music.

I'd take my dad but he'd be hitting up all the young girls and embarass me.

Nice, pops would be out on the prowl!!!!

my mom loves to go out dancing!!!! but not to my music. but i'm sure that's where i got it from. i did take her out dancing with a group of friends for my birthday to the 80's dance club Clockwork Orange a couple of years ago. she had a blast and stayed until the end. she was in the middle of the dance floor dancing her ass off. lol, my friends were like, your mom is so cool. that and she basically drank us all under the table.

hmm, must be where i get my high tolerance from too i also tell her the types of clubs i go to, everything about them. i've always been open and honest with her even as a teenager. she always encouraged us to go to her about anything. so yes my mom knows how i party and what goes on in the clubs. she doesn't like it but she also knows i'm not stupid and won't hurt myself.

she actually likes this music better than what i listened to in high school, heavy metal. atleast she said she can dance to edm

There she ^ is! I was waiting for you to post about your mom!

So everyone elses parents don't go out anywhere to have a little fun?
anyway... This thread wasn't about you people taking your mom or pop to an EDM event/club it's about parents who still like to go out, do alittle dancing, and/or like partying. I know there are lots of concerts that both young & older folks like going to or maybe families that like to have house parties.
Hummm... maybe it's just a Latino thing.

What if you yourself are a parent? Like myself, I'm a parent and I go out. Will my kids take me out? They will after I take them out. thats not for years to come though. Well, I have taken my kids to RTDs when they were around and a Earthdance or 2. They're cool with it.

Posted by Clovis on Oct-25-2007 17:35:

lol, my mom almost came to Standard when I played on the roof, that would have been WEIRD

Ironically the first time I ever went to the Standard was when I was 17 and my mom took me up there during lunch on a wednesday (she works accross the street). There was only about 10 people up there, I had a root beer float that was awesome.

the old couple in the background are usually at 1015 every saturday! they dance the whole time there and their son sometimes comes out too

Posted by JSmooth619 on Oct-25-2007 17:50:

Posted by JSmooth619 on Oct-25-2007 17:52:

I remember seein this old couple(late 60s) getting down to Eddie Halliwell here in S.D. Eddie was even getting a kick out of it. They were slow dancing to some hard beats.

You know at a Vietnamese wedding you'll hear Modern Talking at one point or another.

My parents were into all the New Wave from Germany.
Modern Talking, CC Catch etc..
