Police doing a good job or Tyrannts abusing their powers that be? You Deciede.

quote:
"All mass movements, as one might expect, slip with the greatest ease down an inclined plane represented by large numbers. Where the many are, there is security; what the many believe must of course be true; what the many want must be worth striving for, and necessary, and therefore good.

In the clamor of the many there lies the power to snatch wish fulfillments by force; sweetest of all, however, is that gentle and painless slipping back into the kingdom of childhood, into the paradise of parental care, into happy-go-luckiness and irresponsibility. All the thinking and looking after are done from the top; to all questions there is an answer; and for all needs the necessary provision is made. The infantile dream state of the mass man is so unrealistic that he never thinks to ask who is paying for this paradise. The balancing of accounts is left to a higher political or social authority, which welcomes the task, for its power is thereby increased; and more helpless the individual becomes.

Wherever social conditions of this type develop on a large scale the road to tyranny lies open and the freedom of the individual turns into spiritual and physical slavery."

- Carl G. Jung, The Undiscovered Self

Think about this for a while.

To tell you the truth, by law, they didn't do anything wrong. The law stipulates that police officers can use force if they fear for their life. After having shot a police officer point blank in the face, I would think they would make sure he was not able to assault anyone else. It might have been slightly excessive, but considering that in that situation they could have legally shot him, he got off easy.

no, its not police doing a good job, but that's the chance you take when you shoot someone in the face. im not going to lose any sleep over it.

cop took two bullets to the face for nothing but doing his job, dies

Carpio took some punches to the face for being a homocidal maniac, lives to tell his boys in the yard about it.

what's to think about?

question. who stabbed the 85 year old lady?

Tell that to Dick Cheney.

In most cases, if you have a gun at all, or injure a cop or his dog in any way, they'll probably kill you. Being roughed up is the least of your worries.

Props for shooting the piggie in the face!

This is kinda like the first murder trial my father had which he won. A security guard was confronting the unarmed client. Client felt threatened took his gun from him and blasted him in the face. Self defense not guilty! But I wish it had been a cop.

I did cringe when I saw how bad his face was,,,, but he did shoot a human in the face.........but this guy is lucky to be alive...and the fact that he killed a cop goes to show you that he is pure evil...no regards for law or human life.... he got what he deserved.

To the OP,
Are you trying to make a point here about how much authority the police has in the states? Because there are better videos to go with the quote you posted. In fact it is on youtube it is a video of an off duty police officer killing an unarmed individual in Chicago and the police officer was not guilty for manslaughter.

Posted by Zild on Nov-06-2007 15:47:

I think I should be able to vote for all of the first three choices. Since they were committing police brutality while torturing a murder and failing to uphold the law.

This is true..... bad choice of video Right off the bat, this guy is guilty and the cops showed restraint when the facts are looked at. They could of killed him and got off completely. But in the minds of "the people" they would of been justified. The cops bud and co worker was shot in the face. I would of let them off if on a jury.

There is a mess load of video better than this one to make a statement against the cops....

Seriously if they killed him nothing would have happened to them. But yeah I still don't think that would have been right. That would simply be the way the corrupt justUS system works.

Probably but I don't believe in the death penalty. Neither do I believe in the cops taking justice into their own hands.

I have been physically abused by law officers before, so it is hard for me to give an unbiased opinion.

Nothing and they don't like that. They prefer if you cooperate and acknowledge their questions etc...

I never did believe in the death penalty until something happened that directly affected my family....

but I have always been cautious of cops....
and will not call them unless it really gets out of hand....the last time I called the cops I went to Jail!

Posted by Zild on Nov-06-2007 16:16:

Me too. I had a guy in my house who refused to leave. I pushed him out the door and locked it. He still refused to leave and was banging on the door yelling to be let back in so I called the cops. They arrested me for assault. OH yeah and let that guy go back into my apartment and lock me out from the inside. I later had to go back with group of people and break the door down forcibly which I had to pay for.

well you should have at least answered some of their questions. Regardless of how stupid they may be. Remember they have the power to abuse you and get away with it, you on the other hand don't.

Posted by Zild on Nov-06-2007 16:20:

Actually I do. It is called having money and a lawyer. The only thing you are legally required to do is identify yourself. The only reason they ask you questions is to garner evidence against you.

Posted by DJ Shibby on Nov-07-2007 05:26:

Drug prohibition (which is technically illegal...) has now given excuse to the authorities to arm themselves with semi-automatic weapons.

You really know something BAD is on the horizon when the uneducated dope cops in your hometown are being armed with AK-47s... how the fuck does this shit keep happening?

Does no one in whatever approval process exists, if any, see how this would very easily become a dangerous thing?

yeah, i love the irony. if the second amendment was to allow for militia's to defend against the oppressor, what's really happened is given the potential oppressor more reason to oppress

im sorry, but whilst i can appreciate the beauty of a constitution in the american tradition, i really think the right to bear arms has right royally fucked america.

Well I think what they had in mind was that the people could form their own militias with which to prevent the government from becoming corrupt. I think that while they cited guns, they had in mind that all weapons the government has, the militias would also have access to.

This is obviously difficult to achieve in a world where the federal government builds nukes, and pumps countless billions into war.

Don't get me wrong, we're not fucked because of guns or anything of the sort. We're fucked because our general mentality is very negative and poor these days. But that's because a lot of effort and energy has been put into making that so.
