Airbase

How do you rate him? Crisp productions, fantastic melodies.
Initially in 2002 was superb, but he should release another album soon.

Genie, One Tear Away, Medusa, Roots, Escape, For the Fallen simply amazing.

Some of his remixes under Parc are decent as well, as well as Ozone- Rock.

p.s. and is he really Dj Sammy ?

Agreed, although his melodies are not always spot on. There doesn't seem to be a zone in between actually, they are either hit (Pandemonium, ...) or miss (Ionize, ...).

vagabond was the don. not familiar with his new stuff.

Posted by kingchinc on Nov-08-2007 18:48:

sinister is nice

Never really digged his stuff, but I like Rise under his Mono alias.

Posted by Neon Sky on Nov-08-2007 22:18:

He has made some nice tracks. Escape and Genie are great. Also like Vagabond from his Scarab alias.

Posted by Az on Nov-08-2007 22:31:

didn't he retire?

Posted by THE_Chris on Nov-08-2007 22:40:

Like a lot of pure trance artists, he has gone to the pits lately, but Ozone - Rock (Original mix) is his best production and deserves a mention.

theme from the rock (original mp3.com version)

fuck yeah, rise is the shit!

I liked I Scream under his other alias J.(atleast i think thats one of his alises) i also liked his remix of break my fall

Posted by RebeL9 on Nov-08-2007 22:55:

I like his One Man Army productions. The rest of his is very generic and full of boring supersaws.
But I must say I liked his remix of Under Sun - Capoiera.

Posted by AustralianGQ on Nov-09-2007 00:28:

airbase is awesome, ive loved all his productions

Posted by limin_li on Nov-09-2007 01:45:

Rah/Glow and his remix of Watching The Waves under Moon remix was pretty good as well.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Nov-09-2007 02:53:

For The Fallen was rather nice. Not much trancy breaks around these days. Or, well, ever really...

Terrific!

Posted by BTG on Nov-09-2007 05:22:

i think he and i argued once about somthing. never really liked him after that.

Posted by skip on Nov-09-2007 08:57:

he's made some really good tunes, some decent ones and then some really crappy ones.

two of the worst ones that come to mind are:
iio - smooth (airbase remix)
terrible sound quality and the vocals don't fit at all

rah - pole position
seriously, who makes a track with engine noises?

Posted by isoterra on Nov-09-2007 13:39:

even though he's come out with some pretty awful tracks i rate him highly, as the good far outweighs the bad & he remains one of the more versatile of the new wave epic trance producers. i like his parc guise the most

some favs:

airbase - dreamer (oldskool mp3.com )
jezper - requiem
first & andre - widescreen
airbase - pandemonium/ocean realm
parc - psychopath/gibson/get us out
kenny hayes - daybreaker (airbase remix)
arksun - arisen (parc remix)

also really liked moon - wave, from mp3.com again. it was released under rah, but i seem to remember it was labelled as 'glow' on the vinyl, with 'wave' as a different tune on the flipside. not sure if the names changed of if that was just a platipus mislabel

Wow, we really didn't see that coming from you.

My favorites of his are:
One Man Army - The Anthem
J. - Breaking the Silence

Yeah, his One Man Army productions are mint.

There's this one remix of a Talla 2XLC track that I really enjoy as well. The name escapes me and I'm too tired to go to discogs to find out
