Good New Trance Here (I'm Not Joking)

...Coming from a guy who was making ambient in the past. Great mixture of trance, ambient and some psy elements. Check it out:

SAMPLES HERE

That second track sounds especially good...

It's out on digital today. I just finished listening to it and like expected it's really top notch (i've been listening to the previews quite a few times recently). 100% pure banging trance.

Wow, Spectral Nation ftw. Loads of good stuff there, cheers for the link.

The second track was the only one I didn't like. I don't know if it was the bassline but it reminded me of that poppy pseudo-progtrance Schulz's been putting out lately.

Other than that, quality

I'm not really familiar with Schulz's sound, but I really liked that oriental sound in the second track. Reminded me a bit about Banco De Gaia or some old goa..

If you can look past that slightly cliched sidechaining it's really a great track.

My favorites off the album after one full listen are the first and the last track: "Summer" and "Cruise". But as i said the whole album is brilliant, it kicks most recent trance (and so-called trance) right off the face of this planet.

I definitely need to hear the full track. Also, I probably expected something bit more different.

Will give it more listens for sure

Love the shift to triplet feel and back to regular 4/4.

yeah that's a really sweet album. gonna download it as soon as I have cash. Great blend of different styles as well and love the ethnic touch \o/

Sounds good, reminds me of pre '99 era trance, I've found elements of Deepsky, Juno Reactor and Banco De Gaia in there, among others.

Posted by chadi on Nov-20-2007 21:31:

Excellent, pure quality stuff for sure. I've been looking forward to the release of this one. Don't know why beatport lists so many of those as "Psy-Trance" though.

Agreed. And it's probably why I like it so much.

I wonder how many more trance producers are going to use the word 'solar' in their name...

But this album is sweeeet.

It sounds more like early 1990s techno trance. When trance became known.

Hype of the day

Awesome stuff, havent herd anything like this in a while.

didint think ppl on ultimae would make trance, cool move I suppose, the label is basically one of a kind for psyambient music, one of the few where anything they release is well crafted, thnx for the new heads up, this is a new genre for me to associate with solar fields

good thread, I was just recently looking around for some new good trance.

samples sound very cool

Love it - bought the album today along with Jaia's 'Fiction' album (I put it off for far too long )

you're point being?

after all this hyping i decided to check the samples out and the only one that sounded great was black arrow. others sounded kinda bland. dunno if it's because of the short samples then but i wasn't blown away at all.

Posted by Cipha Sounds on Nov-21-2007 13:36:

Some of the samples sound real good. I already purchased the release with high expectations. Good to hear that decent trance is still being made these days. That track summer is going to make a great intro to a prog house/ambient set I've been working on.

Just listened to the samples, and it ok, but not worth buying imo.
